Widell is coming along nicely, Eom is now getting to his full potential, Parker looks comfortable at Championship level, maybe giving him so limited minutes was a mistake given his defensive and attacking strengths but Matos protecting him given his mentioned injury issues don't want another Montero? Matos interview highlighted the number of games some of our players had recently, I think I would have taken Cullen off instead of Vipotnik just to give them something more to think about higher up the pitch alongside Idah to stem the ball being played out from their backs instead of Cullen dropping into a defensive role where we already has brought on more defensive minded players all about getting our balance between attack and defence right. I’ve been questioned about Matos having initially enthused over him
Now I’m not so sure
There is spirit in the club though and he’s likeable
However , whatever attributes he has dissolve when he selects Ron
Today, again
Give the ball to him and he runs into opponent , trips, passes to the corner flag
He has no ball control nor any shot or heading ability
He’s to be an attacking player
Utterly grotesque as his team mates cover his mistakes
Cabsngo proved today that as a pure stopper and team man he can be superb
Talk of a role model for kids ? He’s that in spades
We have much much deadwood and our loans have been dumb so overall our results have not been bad

As for the three thst will go up, I can’t see beyond the three you mention though there will be some twists and turns between now and the end of the season as nerves kick in. I don’t think all three will come down but it’s not about what players they have now, it’s about how effective their recruitment is for the task in hand. At least one will survive I’m sure. |  |

Not going to give up on Ronald just yet, we showed against good teams we can get into go attacking positions but we have to learn the right time to press and when we do the rest of the team is high enough to get tight enough to sustain the press, while remembering as opposition players move our defenders about then we have to be on the ball to mark and go with runners to limit openings.

I would expect every player on the team to be both a battler and a grafter to ensure we remain on or recoup the ball. Both also have good ball control but in Widells case Downes and O'Brien had a lot more experience at higher levels and knew what was expected of them, often having that experience finds you a yard ahead of the opposition in attack or defence, knowing when to release the ball earlier because you are under pressure or likely to be swamped by opposition players can utilise the spaces they create and often divert that pressure away leaving one free to then take advantage that the timely release of the ball gives you.
How many players have we seen caught on the ball in our defensive third or run down blind alleys of opposition players that kill good moves or movement dead.
Galbraith is good with the ball, sometimes you need to get your head up while on the ball to pick the right option. [Post edited 7 Apr 18:33]
