Morgan has not looked out of place as a Championship midfielder in the last couple of games. Has he progressed enough to play him as the preferred CM partner with Madsen next season? Should he be played off the bench or loan him out for a full season to further his development?

Putting Morgan on the bench next season would be hindering his development. You either loan him out or bite the bullet and commit to him being part of our starting 11. The latter two options are more l8kely to increase his resale value. |
I think the difference would have to be that you bring him on for Madsen earlier and more often. There were far too many games this season where Nico played the full 90 and it was unsurprising when he eventually pulled up with an injury. Give Morgan 10, 20, 30 minutes in some of those games instead, give him the occasional start in those 3 game weeks, actually use the squad rather than flogging individual players to death. | | | |

Agree with this.
He's effectively played a full season of Championship football, and is starting to show he can cut it at this level. Sending him out on loan to League One wouldn't make much sense at this stage. At best we could loan him to a side likely to struggle in the Championship next year like we did with Manning once, but if we've got a talented kid who has just turned 20 and showing rapid improvement he's gotta be in our plans next year. All in for the actually using the squad suggestions, and him deputising but getting starts as the long season progresses.
He is an excellent athlete which you simply can't coach, and the rest of his game is coming on leaps and bounds. |  | | |

That's a fair point but I think loaning Morgan out would necessitate another incoming transfer. That maybe possible or Field might be retained to help facilitate a Morgan loan out, but sooner or later he's going to have to compete for a starting spot. |
You have another 6-12 months of Madsen, meanwhile Morgan is loaned out to get week to week experience and returns when we sell as the longer term option.
I know others were hoping he went somewhere this season, but I was less keen on loaning Morgan in January for exactly this reason. He's still the closest player we have to Madsen in the squad. |  |

Its nonsense when posters think he needs to be 'loaned'......loaned to who??
Improved at PNE, well done to him, but he needed to because he hasn't been good last couple of performances. Only playing because of injuries but pleased for the Club so that they can see how he plays in the Championship. | | | |
