Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid question, but does anyone know the date that the photo was taken on the supposed spy next to the tree. I ask as the full photo published by The Times clearly shows two lots of White Field Bindweed (Calystegia sepium) in the background. Now Field Bindweed only flowers between the months of June and September (and later in the north), if Middlesbrough said that the photo was taken within 48 hours of the May 12th game, then that can’t be correct as the bindweed couldn’t have been in flower.
I can only imagine that the photo was taken in October the previous year, was photoshopped, or tampered with to provide a spurious creation date. Whichever is the answer it might be worth asking Middlesbrough FC how they manage to get their Field Bindweed to flower so early. |  |

Here goes with my response to your questions.
1. Witnesses can be manipulated (perhaps) especially when there’s 150 million hanging on the outcome.
2. I refer to the above, how much would you want to be somewhere/somewhen?
3. If you’re not a gardener then I would always recommend a nice bottle of single malt, after a while you no longer see the weeds. |

Many thanks for your input but it’s pretty difficult to confuse the difference between hawthorn and bindweed. Quite correctly you state that hawthorn can flower in May, however the blossoms are small multi faceted and a off white colour, hedge bindweed flowers from June and produces single almost brilliant white trumpet type blooms.
The question here is not the difference between the two but what plant is in the photo. I recall from previous posts that we have an Ugly living not far from the spot, perhaps a visit and a photo would prove if we have a case or not. | |

Agreed and I’m not disputing that Saints cheated on a number of occasions. I am however trying to prove that Middlesbrough either lied or tampered with some key evidence and if they did, what else did they alter to suit their own objectives. | |
