Tbf appreciate for car enthusiasts driving a Lamborghini is the ultimate dream and obviously for young guys, the only profession for most that want to achieve this, is football.
But cars such as this are designed for Silverstone or Brands Hatch. They are not safe to drive anyhow for the school run or a visit to Tescos. An ambling speed is probably 60mph minimum. They certainly not designed for everyday journeys getting from A to B.
Wasnt that the car sadly that ignited when Diogo Jota and his brother passed. And Anthony Joshua's two close friends sadly also died in an accident recently also.

Tiger Woods has always been notoriously private and has led an astonishing double life which does not allow for a driver to be employed 24/7 or even in the daylight hours.
Its simply giving up too much independance at any age ( I know the old people arguement) to stop driving and most top athlethes are above the law and know it so they drive away and if get caught simply buy their way out of it .

I don't think they are suggesting 24/7 chauffeur but perhaps just if they are drunk or in possession of (or allegedly taking) drugs they could get an uber |  |

My mistake.
In any rate, he's not Prem anymore after this, but if he wants to rebuild his rep, he will have to drop divisions. Not even the Saudi's will take him now as they don't like drugs, even if it was wacky backy. And the Yanks won't have him as DUI is defo a no-no for them and rightly so.
I would give him a one-year deal on standard Champ monies, no more; he does not need the money, but he does need to rebuild his reputation or end up like Antonio, who was not even DUI.
As for racism, Sterling has suffered from that and in the press, all about his tattoos. But this time, this has nothing to do with that; he was driving erratically, as the latest videos show. And then later we learn under the influence ... allegedly.
Clubs also need to educate players not to buy these fast cars; if they want to drive them, go and rent them to go around Brands Hatch. They are footie stars, they don't need flash cars to impress people. They should be in a black 4x4 with tinted back windows and a non-DUI driver mate who also looks after their house when they are away. It would only cost them £50K a year, and it gives a job to a trusted friend.
If they need several Walker Women on the go, that's what Uber is for. You don't want to be in the Lambo for that anyway, as you will get spotted.

Chef, I am normally with you on most things (except Surrey  ) but when someone fails to provide that is often a sign of guilt. I will happily come on here to apologise if proven wrong but if there was a 'legitimate' reason he has Class C in his system, then take the test and on his money he can afford a decent lawyer to explain it away. | | | |

All sorts of comments about Sterling glorifying gun culture and it being a terrible image with young impressionable fans.
Social media warriors went on the warpath.
But when Sterling was quizzed about it. He said he had the gun tattoo done to make a statement that he was massively against gun culture. His own father was shot dead when he was only two years old.

Suggestion is good in principle but probably not through the lens of a highly recognizable premier league multi millionaire footballer. Being the safety concerns of getting into a car with a stranger who knows you're worth millions, there's also a high chance there's pictures of you in a rough state all over the Internet the next day.
That said there's actually zero defensible reason to drive under the influence and i'm sure there are private car services that specialize in no questions asked rides from one place to another for those with money. |  | | |

Ordinarily I agree that we should not point a finger until proven guilty.
But maybe I am old school - If I have nothing to hide I don't worry. Here is where Sterling falls down.
He FAILED to provide a specimen at the road side and had class C drugs on him. I take onboard your example of use for class C but if you refuse that specimen then to me, that's like saying you have something to hide. The same goes with alcohol. And if he has taken a Class C drug to aid depression or sleep then he should still NOT be driving. Just ask anyone who has been affected by a Drug/Drunk driver.
So sorry, but that argument falls down on the failure to provide part. |
