A few of you guys seem to know Majorca quite well
Looking for recommendations for a nice resort for August (Mrs works in a school!!) hotels too if possible
This summer fancy a lazy time, pool, bars, nice restuarants and some music in the evenings - we're 60's but dont realise it lol

About an hour or so north east of Malaga in Granada.

Not a holiday destination but a place to visit. Granada itself has a lot of great little restaurants. Can't remember which wa y round but, in a few places, you buy a beer and get free Tapas or you but Tapas and get a free beer. It gets hot, really hot, in the summer. |  |

We didn't think much of the Marina last year J Cala Bona is better, Benalmadena on mainland Spain is a cracker to.
Alcudia has a nice Harbour lovely hotel right on the harbour looking over the beach to, just a shame about the rest of Alcudia. [Post edited 6 Jun 19:29]

Big birthday this you mate so had plans to go to Thailand for my birthday but we did look at getting a sneaky 9 days in Cala D'or in August as well. They guy who owns the apartments has put up the rate by 70 euros a night (for cash ;) ) which is a big hike. It is still cheaper than most of the Cala D'or places and the view is outstanding. We haven't committed to it yet and we are looking at a bit of a tour of Andalucia | |

We booked Portugal, but cancelling this week, Mrs got to have a biopsy on her bladder mid August, won't be able to fly for a minimum of 6 weeks after. [Post edited 7 Jun 19:32]

What are your tastes? Puerto Mogan is a more upmarket version of Puerto Rico and much prettier but much smaller and not much choice. Plenty of very decent restaurants around Puerto Rico and the beer is ridiculously cheap in a lot of the bars. A few over the top english bars in the commercial centre and going to be outnumbered by the Scandies in January/February. The beach in Puerto rico is nice enough and there is a nicer one in Amadores and Anfi. The las olas centre is a quieter part of Puerto rico around by the marina with a few very good resturants at very decent prices ( an excellent sirloin with very nice vegetable for about 12 quid).
Over to Maspalomas and Ingles - millions of choice and many people like it (not for me, stayed there once, never again) The dunes are a good visit and the police are going to town on the sex tourists. Obviously plenty of nudism around there, Melonores is OK in fairness fv bb
More chance of cooler temperatures especially in the evening and sunset is about 6 pm | |

We stayed in the Protur Bonaire as we took my 13 year old ( Going on 23 )grandaughter for her birthday, but unfortunately it focused on toddlers to 8 year olds, hence spending a lot of time at The Marina. Great hotel if you've got young kids mind | | | |

it is reasonably warm (early 20's in the day but can feel warmer ) can feel a lot cooler in the night with the wind. Corralejo in Fuerteventura is nice but a bit more expensive. As above, what about Cape Verde - better chance of good weather but haven't been there myself | |
