Decided to start this thread to see if any QPR fans went to any World Cup games and would be willing to share their experiences good or bad .
I flew to Dallas with my daughter to see Japan V Sweeden last Wednesday and decided to wear my 85 Guinness shirt the first day and my Blue Star sponsored one second day .
I also had planned to meet Paul ( thame hoop) for lunch or just a beer but sadly it did not work out thanks to a Japenese couple we met at the Rodeo and panicked us about the traffic and pedesterian congestion on game day (they said 3 hours )so that screwed up our plans to meet and chat.
Game day at lunch a man came over with his son and said he loved the 85 shirt a true classic and is a current West Ham ticket holder and we laughed about the away end so he agreed with everybody here on LFW a nightmare .Real nice guys chatted for 30 minutes.
Game was not great ,once Sweeden equalized they both stopped playing IMO as they were both through.The crowd was incredible though the Japanese section had drums and never stopped banging and chanting and the Sweedes sang or chanted all game to try and counter we loved it
Next day we went to Ft Worth to see the longhorns really amazing btw and while I was buying a frightining expensive leather belt for my son a family walked straight over .
Seeing my shirt he asked me about QPR and he introduced himself as the son of Mick Leach (sadly passed very young ) and showed me pictures from the reception at Loftus Road recently again lovely family and another 30 minutes used up 
We shook hands and walked outside when 3 guys walked over and one guy said Alan Mc Donald and I replied RIP and he shook my hand so hard its still bruised.He lived beside Alan for years and said he was an incredible down to earth guy and terrible missed by everybody . The other guy was a Birmingham City season ticket holder we laughed about the Dunne and Morgan late goals he said he was at both and the noise was incredible despite how frustrated the blues fans were .
The 3rd guy was from Gillingham I dont know much about their team.They asked my daughther if she supported QPR and she said Man City they were disgusted lol.We said goodbye and moved on it was just too hot in Texas to stand around all day .
No other QPR encounters flew back Friday night broke but happy .
Like I mentioned before its once in a lifetime if anybody has the time and money jump at it

Being a glory hunting QPR and Scotland fan (in other words glory starved for decades...) I was in Boston for the Scotland v Haiti and Morocco matches plus Miami for the Brazil match.
The Scotland team were pretty dire - the fans outstanding though, with memories from Boston especially that I will never ever forget. The locals were also fabulous in Boston - far less so in Miami unfortunately.
Overall it was a great experience, although the ticketing process is obscene. Tickets with an already expensive face value being sold on for 10 times face value on FIFA's own resale site, with them taking a cut from both buyers and sellers, sounds like a mix of malpractice and extortion. $265 Scotland v Brazil tickets were being sold for more than 10 times that on the day of the match, with similar stories circulating from the England v Mexico match from last weekend. It really should be investigated - but no doubt it won't be. I fear it will become the norm at future tournaments. |  | | |

Problem goes away if people don't buy them. It really is as simple as that!
So, I've got no sympathy for people who've allowed themselves to be fleeced by Infantile/the FIFA mafia, and all they've done, as you say, is incentivised FIFA to wash, rinse, and repeat again.

It would have to be from the Liquor Store I think Boston all the bars ran dry and the Scots cleaned up after themselves fair play where its due.
Would love to hear him tell us a little more about Miami because its overloaded with English and Norweigan fans tonight .

Great post and I’m glad you had such a great time.
I’ve not been following it all that much, tbh, but my Instagram thingy has been sending me clips of Americans being blown away by how the England fans are having such a great time and “don’t go round smashing things up after all”. Warms the old cockles, it does.
The clips of post-Mexico match are even better, so it would be great to hear from one of our own who experienced that. |  |

Miami is a tourist trap so unfortunately a lot of the locals were just looking to fleece the visitors, especially in South Beach.
I spent time in the Little Havana and Little Haiti districts which were way better. Better food, better prices and the locals were very hospitable.
All in all a great trip. The septic tanks can keep the hydration breaks, count downs to kick off etc and I just hope the ticketing model doesn't become the norm for the future. | | | |
