We are getting our first Eclipse since 1999 tonight, basically the sun is covered by the moon and everything will go weirdly dark and it will get cold, as a survivor (That is what people call themselves for everything that happens these days) of the 1999 eclipse here are some handy tips
1. An eclipse, like John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood, should not be looked at directly with the eyes, it could seriously damage them, although unlike JPFCW you can breathe in, it will not damage your nose.
2. You should not even look directly at it with sunglasses on, if you want to look directly at it, you need a special pair of certified solar eclipse glasses and these are now pretty much sold out, even the middle of Lidl hasnt got any.
3. The easiest way is to project it on to a piece of paper, take two pieces of card or paper and put a small hole in one of them , when the eclipse happens hold or place one piece on a surface and standing with your back to the eclipse ( Don't face it or look at it) and then hold up the one with the hole and hey presto you get a projection through the hole on to the paper.
4. A similar effect can be used using a collander* instead of the paper with the hole in it, you then get a truly psychedelic effect with multiple projections, giving you the feeling that you are now a member of the Grateful Dead during an eclipse in 1960's San Francisco.
5 Take a selfie of yourself with the sun behind you
