M62 Traffic Warnings 16:15 - Aug 25 with 1847 views

Traffic warning for anyone travelling over from Yorkshire for the game on Tuesday. There will be night road closures from 8pm - 6am until the end of September. In particular east and west bound between junctions 22 and 24. Closures are Monday to Friday. Times are subject to change at short notice.
Diversions will take you through Sowerby Bridge and Halifax on the A58. Having travelled from junction 27 for nearly 40 I have had many horrible experiences on the M62. Nothing ever goes smoothly in these circumstances.

And then after negotiating the M62 you have the utter balls up of Rochdale… whichever route you choose!!

Will be a very small minority effected however.

If you are travelling from West Yorks and end up through Hebden Bridge and Tod....swing a right just out of Tod (Gauxholme Viaduct) and travel via Sharneyford and into Bacup and then onto Whitworth and hit the COA via Falinge Park and Spotland Road.

Might call it the Scenic Route?

The M62 closure isn't until 8pm, so that lengthy diversion is unnecessary for getting to Spotland.

As D4L says, the number of fans affected will be quite small and it's only likely to be on their return journey.

The M62 is the gift that keeps on giving. I have been in hour long queues on the M62 westbound in an afternoon in West Yorkshire three times in 3 weeks. I suspect there will be delays inbound too.
