Not making light of this , imo a serious downturn societal relationship between the citizens and the police , I never thought that we'd be in a position that the police are now thought of the oppressors by normal everyday folk , people who until quite recently would support them and negative comments against the RNLI but when a government so hell bent on ignoring the electorate and use the police as a tool to spread fear that any protest is seen as riotus behaviour then we're on a road to anarchy .

The fact that they ignore so many minor crimes these days in favour of chasing people who say nasty things, anybody axcused of racism (including these protestors) is a national disgrace.
Have a crime committed at your home or on your car, even if you have evidence it's most likely all you'll get is a crime number for the insurance. It's not the ordinary coppers fault either, it's the PC bosses and politicians, again.

You make a good point about some of the work Shabana Mahmood has done, itās a lot more than most of her predecessors did in their tenures.
The numbers are down significantly and legislative changes have made it more difficult. Thereās still some way to go, but all in all sheās made some d3cent progress.

Just on immigration, net immigration down, boat crossings down, asylum hotel use down, increased action against people smugglers, tighter controls on legal immigration, improved co-operation with European partners, implementaion of visa restrictions. By any objective measure she has been more successful that any recent Home Secretary, certainly more effective than Braverman and Jenrick (as immigration minister). The problem is not many people are objective.
You make a good point about dementia. Recognising it is the first step to getting the help you need.
