| Unbeaten away, struggling at home 12:56 - Oct 10 with 3066 views | Stainrod | Struggling to assess where we are. We are unbeaten away because that defensive nucleus of Dunne, JCS and Ronnie in front of Prince Charles must be as good as any in the league. Really superb, and in turn protected by Madsen and Kamara who is a revelation in being able to get us up the pitch. Smyth is also an unsung hero at just driving us forward and relieving pressure. If we can get draws at the likes of WH and WBA with the occasional 3 points away at teams we get on the break that is more than good enough in terms of away form. But I honestly don’t know where we will pick up enough wins if we can’t beat those “lesser” teams at home when we have more than 50% possession. Will enough goals come at home? We are creating chances but maybe our strikers just not clinical enough? Can Madsen recapture a bit of that sparkle from last season and really boss a game? If Chair comes back and Poku continues to grow, might we be OK? At around the 10 game mark am cautiously optimistic, even excited, but I can’t honestly predict where we finish with even vague accuracy. | | | | |

| Unbeaten away, struggling at home on 18:26 - Oct 13 with 525 views | nix | I’m hoping the lack of Matt Clarke will help us. He was just brilliant at their place last season and seemed to be everywhere at once heading out every ball that came into their box. On the down side they’ve only won three of their last twelve away games and you know what we’re like about being charitable. But even a draw would be an improvement against last year’s efforts cos we got zero points against them last season. I am a bit concerned about the number of draws we’re racking up and our relative drought in front of goal. But I also hate ‘must win match’ or ‘six pointer’ being trotted out so early in the season. Way too many matches to come. | | | |

We fix the injury situation and start scoring ( I think they are linked) and we could be going places. Apologies for stating the bleedin’ obvious.

QPR Dimensions: 112 yards long x 72 yards wide (102m x 66m) WHU Dimensions: 114.8 yards long x 74.4 yards wide (105m x 68m) So West Hams' is a couple of metres or so bigger in length and girth. If you can’t go down, feel the girth…

You're quite right, well spotted. Obviously I was taking basic competence in consistency of measurement for granted!

Sorry Connell, but the citation of that old chestnut all but guarantees a pathetic defeat.

When you spell it out like that it sounds like there's nothing in it in terms of pitch size. But if you calculate the whole playing area: West Ham = 105 * 68 = 7,140 sq meters QPR = 102 * 66 = 6732 sq meters So West Ham's pitch is 408 square meters bigger than ours. To put that in perspective you could put four new build 3 or 4 bedroom houses on a 408 square meter plot. https://www.new-builds.co.uk/b So it's not a myth, we really do have a small pitch.
