But what else can we expect from this assh*le of a government? I wonder if those idiots at the FA tried to do anything about this. Really feel for those fans missing out today.

It was the choice of the National League north & south clubs that they are classified as "elite" though! They insisted that they had promotion to the NL Premier last season & that their play offs would take place, knowing that only "elite" clubs could compete again in season 2019/20. At the same time refusing promotion to clubs at the level below. The irony is that the clubs at step 3 that would have been promoted are financially better off this season as they can have crowds of up to 600. I also find it amazing that clubs that are in tier 3 Covid are still allowed to host crowds. At least, they did at Radcliffe & FC United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
| FA Cup Shambles on 11:56 - Oct 26 with 1791 views | DannyPaddox | I've been to two FA Cup games this season. A 1st Round Qualifying tie at Wingate & Finchley and a 3rd Round Qualifier at Haringey Borough. Both of these teams are Level 7 and there was a decent atmosphere amongst the 250 or so spectators at each game. As Level 6 teams and and above have to have their games played behind closed doors, I thought that Level 5 and 6 teams would've considered switching grounds if they were drawn against a lower team in the qualifying rounds (losing home advantage but at least having a crowd and a few bob). None did. Maybe they aren't allowed. So in the draw for the 1st Round Proper this evening; South Shields, FC United of Madchester, Marine, Banbury United, Hayes & Yeading, Cray Valley Paper Mills, Maldon & Tiptree, Canvey Island, Bishops Stortford (if they beat St Albans City later), and the lowest ranked team, Skelmersdale United of the North West Counties League (Level 9, Ball 50) will all be allowed crowds but teams such as Tonbridge Angels, Hampton & Richmond, and Concord Rangers, along with ex-winners Wimbledon, Bolton, Ipswich, Hull, Portsmouth, Wigan, Charlton, and Sunderland and a host of others from Eastbourne Borough to Carlisle United wont. | | | |

I think it is the level of the team rather than where they are playing, so St Albans could change the venue to Leverstock Green FC but as their playing level is the same then fans would still not be allowed. It is a bonkers system as the higher level teams have better facilities to allow distancing etc

| FA Cup Shambles on 12:12 - Oct 26 with 1769 views | DannyPaddox | Put simpler Bishops Stortford (Level 7) play at home to St Alban's City (Level 6) in the last qualifying tie this evening. There will be a full house, it should be a cracker and I'd go if I wasn't working. However if the tie was St Alban's City v Bishops Stortford they would have had to play behind closed doors. But if that was the case could the teams have agreed to switch the tie to Bishops Stortford? | | | |

I don't think so. Think it is the level rather than the ground. It's all as clear as mud. Tickets are all sold out I think so even if you didn't have work it wouldn't be a fun night

Was just going to say there’s 4 game’s that can have crowds ... including the big Banbury United v Canvey Island clash. The other 3 would’ve been: FC United of Manchester v Dontcaster Rovers Maldon & Tiptree v Morecambe & Hayes & Yeading v Carlisle United Absolute ... ah whatever.
