Recognised that the first-half showing was unacceptable and took responsibility for some poor finishing and decision-making. However, kept on going and got his reward in the end. Such resilience and perseverance is the hallmark of a good striker and rather sums up the character of the team.

I'd agree with that. He creates chances for others and pulls defenders out of position, so even when not scoring you see the value of him to the team. Defenders cant afford to leave him unmarked and although he seems to have lost a little pace, he is still a real handful at this level for most teams
| Never knowingly understood |

Dis he ever have pace? Always thought he was a clever player without much pace, Teddy Sheringham style.

Charlie on today's draw on 16:36 - Aug 21 with 1220 views | WatfordR | I don't think he was anywhere near 100% fit today. Some of those chances he snatched at were really most unlike him. He's taken responsibility to play through, and got his reward for keeping going. Well done to him and the rest of them. Wouldn't have given them a price at half time.
