Drew with the Yanks, gave China a good shoeing and didn’t we beat Iran recently? Maybe we’re in the wrong business; definitely entering the wrong cup competitors. | |

| Presidents Cup 1988 on 13:55 - Dec 23 with 876 views | DannyPaddox | I was having a beer with an Orient supporter recently just before the World Cup. He was very full of himself at the fact Orient beat Wales 2-1 in a friendly not so long ago. Wales!? I replied. Bah. We beat Iran 3-0 and then gave the Chinese Olympic team such a kicking it made the National tea-time news. Amazing to add USA and USSR to the list of countries we’ve played. I’m sure there was a friendly in the 80s with Nigeria. I can picture a programme cover with Glenn Roeder and the Nigerian captain swapping pennants and sort-codes on the plastic pitch. And then there’s this one: That’s the British Army. 1-0 to the Rs. Addinall header. Will any more come to light? Pre-season friendlies against The Holy Roman Empire, or a Genghis Khan Select XI perhaps? | | | |
