I thought he was going to be a heaven sent blend of Patrick Viera and Roy Keane when he arrived. He DID have some shortcomings but I liked him. I wish he had worked out for us as he had a personality and character.

The grass is always greener.

Wasn’t there a lot of rumours that he was also a diabetic and struggled with his insulin levels , always carrying a bag of jelly baby’s with him where ever he went .

Oh wow. Samba Diakite memories fantastic, thanks Clive. But the 1966/67 4-1 was my first game at Loftus Road. Which is why I still keep coming back, I suppose.

that first appearance was incredible; I've never seen anything like even playing Sunday morning footy with people wearing ankle tags.

The Arsenal performance was nothing short of majestic and had huge hopes for him the following season............ was not to be!

Likewise - I thought him and Faurlin were going to conquer all before them.

Doh.

Has managed around 100 appearances in his entire career - he's now 34! Less a case of now you see him than now you don't! He'd be so at home right now with the general QPR madness and systemic absenteeism, given those stats.

Great piece Clive.

He was like a one man real life refereeing quiz

"How do you handle a player who commits 17 fouls in 20 minutes?"
