I work for a charity these days and one of our support services is gardening at a community based landshare and whilst we are there, there are a lot of community payback men and women doing the hard work up there as a way of completing their hours for community service.
Simpson got some for abuse to his partner and was a bingo caller for a learning disability support group.
Many think it's something that is inappropriate as punishment but the idea behind it , is it introduces people to more community ways to be kind and to know that not everyone has the same advantages in life.
Whether it works or not, it's dubious.
From the way Simpson revels in his time with Miss California, I would not really be able to tell but unfortunately obviously as we all know even in the world of football, there is a massive range of dubious and honourable characters alike.
From this podcast, guessing seems Simpson still sees himself as "a bit of a boy"
So whether calling out numbers for prizes given to group of vulnerable adults, hope lessons learned, although myself personally am dubious !!!!

A "friend of mine" got Comm Service years ago in our younger, wilder days.
He was allocated to a section painting a local school. They were issued bare minimum brushes and black paint to coat up a fence. The fella supervising gave the impression he couldn't care less. Third Saturday in... fella is a bit flustered saying he's being quality checked by Management at some time that day... PROBLEM - they've now run out of black paint with third and final coat to do and there was a lot of sitting around and shoulder shrugging.
I kid you not he instructs everyone to "move the brushes up and down on bit's you've already painted when the big wigs are here and then f@ck off early when they're gone"
These days the bigger punishment would be attending Loftus Road I'd say........
