| A miserable return for Marti as white hot QPR incinerate Leicester – Report on 01:32 - Dec 22 with 3974 views | hopekillsyou | Great report. Spot on. I’d gone into the game with low expectations, becos the emotional cost of unfulfilled high expectations is too great, also because we tend to f**kthings up when least expected. So , consequently, it was just…brilliant. Mbengue, Madsen and Dembele you rightly single out as outstanding. Norrington-Davies I thought stood out too - it’s good to have two decent full backs. However, another game where Clarke-Salter ( have we ever previously had 2 double barrelled surnames on the pitch at the same time…) was subbed at half time. It’s not the first time. Didn’t look injured - maybe he was. Leicester were terrible. Absolute shit. I almost started feeling sorry for them - well almost - a team lacking in any motivation. Calling Marti a c*ntwas unnecessary, disappointing and sounded stupidly spiteful - his team’s performance was enough on the hubris front. This result has led me to raise my expectations , probably unfortunately because we are not going to be playing against such a shower every week. | | | |

Magical day at LR and yes it does appear this team is very tight knit and well managed despite the few 3 game weekends implosion . Without question QPR were highly motivated and for one of the few times ever we ripped the other team to shreds and could have scored 6 or 7 .Happy Days indeed

This. Magnifique! Re: JCS, think it’s sensible they’re managing his minutes after so many injuries; see also Poku. I’m guessing there’s evidence that building up gradually leads to fewer future injuries (fingers crossed). As for going for more goals, I kind of get it given the busy Christmas period. As for the ref, a bit generous as I think he wasn’t really protecting our players (particularly Mbengue) from being kicked up in the air. I’m guessing they thought with all the bookings they could get Mbengue sent off for retaliation but he’s not really hot headed like that just more mad as the proverbial. Happy Christmas everyone.
| A miserable return for Marti as white hot QPR incinerate Leicester – Report on 07:21 - Dec 22 with 3513 views | Paddyhoops | A report as a good as the game . I asked for them in a pre match post to go at them like dogs . We did and some. Leicester were woeful . As disinterested a team as I’ve seen here for years . Failed premier league players stuck in a purgatory of thinking they’re too good for an unforgiving championship and nowhere good enough for the premier league. Simmo pointed out Jimmy Dunne’s contribution in a post after your report. He’s involvement in all our goals is staggering for a centre half . Everyone was outstanding apart from Hamer who really needs to up his work rate. 😉 Happy Xmas everyone. | | | |

| A miserable return for Marti as white hot QPR incinerate Leicester – Report on 07:26 - Dec 22 with 3474 views | BushRanger82 | I have been reliving the 1st 45+ minutes in my head, Mbengue, Mbengue, Mbengue, gue, gue, since half-time on Saturday. Call me greedy, but I was, like you, a little peeved we didn't add 1 or 2 more goals to our tally in the 2nd half. In fact, I was thinking we might have achieved our biggest ever home win, such was our dominance of that heavenly 1st half. To my mind though, we're too much of a Jekyll & Hyde kinda side, for me to be even a tad optimistic about where we might be headed. How we do in back to back aways at Portsmouth and West Brom next up, will be really telling. | | | |

Everything as was said here too!! Great report as per usual Clive. We were as brilliant as Leicester were poor. They were absolutely awful. To show the level of disinterest, lack of effort and disrespect of their own fans was shameful. To be shown up by a 16 year old, considering the “value” of his teammates was diabolical. Never was a team so undeserving of a consolation goal, and they couldn’t even get the penalty right first time. Leicester are probably one of the few sides with whom I have no particular axe to grind. I’ve been happy enough for them (as much as you can really for another team) and I wish we had their relatively recent success. But they were by far the worst team I’ve seen at Loftus Road this season. The image of Jordan Ayew standing, shoulders slouched and with his hands open, looking like he’d just dropped his school dinner tray, not realising what had just happened when Mbengue had just scored his thunderb@$!@rd goal summed Leicester up for me. Didn’t know what hit them, and couldn’t be @£sed to do anything about it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Great report as always - many thanks and an early xmas gift, that I actually wanted :-) ! That pass from Dunne to MadBen was a great example of doing the simple things well. It reminded me of a flat pass in rugby where the receiver is 1-2 metres away before it’s made but takes it at full speed to break the line. That’s the link up that we’ve been missing playing forwards at times. Great to see and the real Dunne - he was great all game. It really was the motivated against the demotivated in the first half particularly but boy we really did make AND take our chances when we were on top. Long may that continue - more please.

Brilliant report on a brilliant day. Ayew pretending he had a head injury summed up his contribution when even his own players ignored him. Football so much more than price tags. JCS definitely limping on his left foot towards the end of the 1st half and kept feeling his ankle, so Cook coming on shows not wanting to take a risk. Chair back over Christmas as well. Agree Clive I think the next 2 games will tell us a lot about this team. Mbengue played a lot of games at RB for Reading so no surprise he is comfortable there. Clive thanks again

Marti As you said we most likely never know what happened but I think there was a lot more angst at this club with him here... as Madsen alluded too I thought the ref was poor to be honest and Mavididi should have been booked well before he was. But that was my grandson first game this season and what a great one for him...

Would have wanted another 6 goals for that. Remember in my youth us putting 9 past Tranmere.

Agree with that. You're 4-0 up at home against a team that looks absolutely uninterested in the game, you've got a player with a poor history of injuries who you're managing back to fitness and a capable replacement on the bench, why not gi d him a break with an eye towards a busy run of games over the next 10 days? One moment I noticed when Ayew got booked - in the handbags thaf preceded it Mbengue started trying to get involved. I've never seen Dunne move so fast as he did to grab him and steer him in the opposite direction. After a shaky start this season Jimmy seems to be really growing into his role as captain and he was excellent on Saturday both in his individual play but also taking charge of his team.
| A miserable return for Marti as white hot QPR incinerate Leicester – Report on 10:13 - Dec 22 with 2635 views | MrSheen | Fat Niles Crane had a very strange game. Completely invisible in midfield, I thought he held Kone and Burrell (no doubt tiring) fairly comfortably in check back in defence. Everything you wrote about the lack of challenge on the third goal was even worse for the one Kone blasted over early in the second half. The Leicester fan at work was telling me how much he hates most of the squad but he particularly loathes Vestergaard for his passivity. If Kone had scored that time, it would have been completely shameful. I think we should give a special mention for the excellent debut performance of Dembélé’s right foot. Put a great shift in, particularly in the first half. | | | |

Poor as he was, those two in midfield were basically left to do it all on their own. Ayew and Reid were embarrassing for such experienced (and no doubt well-remunerated) players. The wingers had no interest in defending at all. I think it could have been more of a shellacking second half had the referee not sought to treat it like an under-8s game showing mercy to the losing side. Was happy to be abused by Reid in particular and Ayew could easily have picked up a second yellow for the foul by R block if not his constant whinging. Something has definitely happened there since beating Ipswich and going 2 up at Bristol City even if they weren’t exactly brilliant in either. Interested to see how they get on over the next few weeks as stuff like delaying the staff wages will have ripples. Real fun if they do get a significant points deduction and suddenly are battling it out to avoid relegation. A few of them hoping to get out in January I’m sure but bar Fatawu I can’t see many queuing up to take them.

My liver and kidneys took a right hiding Saturday. There were a few groans in the pub beforehand when we saw Dembele starting ahead of Smyth but as you say that's the best game thus far from Dembele both with and without the ball so what do we know.....Boys were bang up for this one. Can we now go to Portsmouth and get something which will be a completely different game as the hunter becomes the hunted.
| A miserable return for Marti as white hot QPR incinerate Leicester – Report on 16:03 - Dec 22 with 1653 views | derbyhoop | I think we got a fair share of good fortune amongst the dynamism of the first half. Not sure if Koki knew much about his header. Did Mbengue mean to shoot or cross? Saying that, Leicester came with an awful attitude. They were often pedestrian in possession. They got what they deserved and so did we. | |

It was a bit like the Cov game in that just about every shot that Rangers tried in the 1st half went in. Lots of luck, yeah, but time and time again Leicester failed to prevent the cross and then failed to clear their lines. Their attitude stuck the place out for the Foxes fans that I know. Made me very happy though.

He always celebrates our goals properly when he’s warming up on the side of the pitch: it’s great to see. WLS says we have offered him a new contract and talks are ongoing: really hopes he signs up as he’s a great squad member with a fantastic attitude. [Post edited 22 Dec 20:42]
