Been watching Only Connect this evening and one of the questions had the answer “Les Ferdinand”. Victoria Coren Mitchell described him as Sir Les Ferdinand, the England footballer, but added “more importantly the Queens Park Rangers footballer”. She clearly still has a fondness for our team! Well done Victoria, you are still one of us.

I seem to remember that we are her team and that she grew up watching us. But I may be imagining that. I know she is very fond of us.
I just found an old Evening Standard article from March 1997 where she claims to have “never had a boyfriend who loves QPR as much as I do”. I’ve no idea where current husband David Mitchell’s allegiances lie (or whether he even likes football), but if not with QPR, then he must have something else going for him.

It's a great sketch, but I'm sure it was only filmed at Loftus Road because we're down the road from the Beeb (or still were at the time).
