Any views on him?

Start stop start so far in his time here but I’m far from impressed so far.

Am I missing something again?

Useful going forward, has pace to help out at the back.

Don't dislike him

Not seeing it.
Offers very little.
His positioning and awareness defensively is all over the shop.
Going forward he’s slow and gives the ball away every other pass.

Clive Wilson he is not

Good defensively. Decent carrying the ball out of defence. But would like to have seen him run to the by-line or delver a cross. Seemed to get high up the pitch then develop a bit of a nose-bleed. Like a slightly smoother RND. But he has a good track record, very early days. And in fairness he probably did more going forwards than Adamson.

Thought he was good today. Came across a couple of times to cover CB's. Got forward well.
Linked well at times with Kamara when Saito went in field.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Had his best game for us tonight and was clear winner of the battle of the bandages competition with their big number 17.

Not helped by playing 35 minutes with nobody on the left of midfield. Thought he was fine. He’s been a top player at this level and a good age so no reason he won’t kick on.

Thought he did ok, at least looking to go forward at every opportunity .

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Difficult to judge on one appearance.

Did nothing particularly wrong. Was ok but needs a run of games before assessing him.

Kemper has had a few games and performed at a higher level and for me has the jersey for now, but Cirkin should do well.

I am wondering if he can play right side also as Adamson has had a couple of streaky perfomances and I would prefer he just was a sub to come on , this Saturday but with Lamptey and Mbengue out, its unlikely.

Unless JD does his right back extraordinaire performances again with JCS hopefully available.

I thought he played pretty well tonight.
One of the few who might qualify for a 6.

Flip of a coin between him and Ronnie .
He played well .

I thought when Chair came on and rallied us for 10 minutes, Cirkin really improved with an actual player to connect with down that flank.

Hard playing with Saito, who I do still like, but who really stank the place out today. Did he control the ball once? Must have missed it if so.

If Stuart Pearce had Saito playing in front of of him, he’d look a bit ropey.

Cirkin left totally exposed, thought he did a good job under the circumstances. If he does have a fault, it’s standing off his winger when we’re under pressure, but a lot of that probably down to the lack of support if he does dive in.

We’re fortunate to have the likes of Kemper and Cirkin available down that side.

Solid in defence and got more going on the left with Saito than Adamson and Vale managed on the right, which was pretty much nothing.

I thinks he looks really good.

Seems strong in the one on one tackle. Got a better first touch than most of our forwards (low bar admittedly). Looks to attack with intent, aggression and tempo (which we often don't do enough of). Decent athlete.

If we had 2 players for every position of his and Kemper's quality we'd be a play off team.

I thought he looked good yesterday. He sometimes puts some decent balls in that no one gets on the end of which isn’t really his fault. He looked solid in defence and decent up front. Vale and Saito aren’t offering enough for us at the moment but that’s not our FB’s fault. They were given the ball enough times in decent positions but didn’t do enough with it.

Bit perplexed he’s the one being highlighted.

Another here who thought Cirkin was fine last night. Kemper has been very good but I think Cirkin will show he's got a bit more quality on the ball.

His best game for us IMO and first time I got why Sunderland fans raved about him.

Think he will be a real asset as the season goes on and he plays more.

Does he have the potential to become a menace?

Good enough for us, thought he did OK last night, better than our young RB.

I like Kember but would like to see both playing.....can he play elsewhere than LB??

He looked ok, but clearly not that comfortable on the left, cut back in every single time

He's played 100+ games of professional football at left back. I think he'll figure it out.

He's played over 100 games at Championship (and PL) level as a left back. He's left-footed. Both our full backs are clearly told to tuck in.

Thought he played well behind the over-friendly ghost that is Saito. He'll be great behind Chair (as will Kemper, tbf). Our best technical players will all be better the more of them we can play together, ie Madsen, Chair, Lamptey to join Cirkin, Edwards, Kamara. Get that team out, if you can.

Interesting that he's less than a year older than "our young RB" as Gazza describes Adamson. Fair bit further down the footballer evolution. (But can imagine them both giving up football, buying a camper van and globetrotting together, Bert and Ernie style)
