I think we’ve found one in Dykes.
He needs a 10 breaking beyond him and an 8 playing off him. Proper link player who will get double figures himself as well

Kudos to whoever identified, tracked and signed him.

Great fox in the box goal this evening with fantastic movement off and in between centre backs

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Like Charlie Austin with pace. Like Austin he takes up good positions. Could have had 3 tonight.
Pissed off the the pubs will be (more or less) shut tomorrow. I’m known locally in this bit of Scotland as the QPR bloke so could be milking it 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Strong and stable my arse.

Yes he takes up great positions and he's great at running onto things in the last 12 yards. We'll do well to keep him if he has a great season but let's try and enjoy what he can do while we have him. He has Charlie Austin traits.

Never knowingly right.

Nice to see a striker scoring from inside the 6 yard box and between the posts.

I do like him but the major difference, and what made Charlie so special, is Austin could smack the ball in from the edge of the box to 35 yards away. He just had a very very hard lethal strike. He was also second only to Sir Les at attacking headers on crosses.

So I like many of the early signs of Dykes but he has not yet shown he has either of the those attributes, either in Scotland or with us.

His stats suggest the vast majority of his career goals have come from within 12 yards.

BUT

His strike rate on those is great 4 in 7 for club and county. One was a pen, fair enough, but an absolute blaster of one. The other 3 have come from scraps, really. He's been pretty isolated, really.

AND

Hid hold up play and first touch are excellent.

Let's hope Willets (sp?) can stretch things on the left and Bon, Chair & Dykes can play off each other.
