One shot on target can't defend worried now.

2 goals in 10 hours. And one of those was an O.G.

Same time time last year 10 hours of football brought us 20 (TWENTY!) goals.

The thing that makes that even worse is we had twelve big chances and only one shot on target. So we're creating stuff but they're not putting it away. Not just the strikers but anyone. And we're not even putting the goalie under pressure.

Ya, that's a worry.

We're really snatching at chances as well - lost count of the amount of "high and wides" I've typed recently.

Do you think it's a lack of confidence thing or a lack of quality issue Brian? It's like they arrive at the ball a fraction too late or they're off balance when they shoot or they snatch at it. If just a fraction of our big chances went in we'd be fine. But I've noticed other teams our happy to let us play the ball round prettily and then put us under pressure just before and after half time and in the last five minutes knowing we're a bit toothless up front and lack resilience at the back.

Which encapsulates my problem with LTC. A technically very proficient player, but imho doesn't hurt the opposition much - 1 assist to date, I believe.
I actually think his signing is a big problem with our team at the moment. He really wasn't what we needed, a dogmatic and not pragmatic signing.

On your first issue, I think a lack of self-belief is damaging us at the moment. I reckon the majority of our money signings may well come good, but they needed to be played in at a slower pace which, as we know, wasn't an option.

Very hard for MW with the turnover of players during his tenure, and his ability to spend a bit on transfers may be masking his inability to lure the players he really wants because of the wages we seemingly pay.

to surmise, i have no answers!

Wonder what became of them?

Oh and Daphne and Celeste........

Daphne & Celeste - I had a soft spot for them. They played a stage at the Reading Rock Festival and despite getting relentlessly bottled carried on heroically with their set. I thought to myself those girls have got some spunk (cough). Then I heard they were living around Notting Hill and knocking about with Brian Eno. I hoped they might return with a new far-out Eno-produced glambient sound but to my knowledge it never transpired. One of modern music’s great mysteries -
what happened to Daphne & Celeste?

I was half-expecting someone on here to say they’d married one (or both) of them.

It may also be down to the pressure on them. They will be acutely aware of how poor our results have been and how few goals we have scored, making every chance massive. When you've not performing well - when you're not "in the zone" - you can overthink things rather than just doing things instinctively.

I can remember one of the very few 50s I scored when I used to play cricket. After a good number of overs at the crease, the bowler came in and before I knew it, I had on driven it for four without even thinking about it. That's a shot I struggle to play in front of a mirror, let alone in the heat of battle with an actual ball.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Your description of LTC could be applied to the whole team

to be fair, I don't think they are all technically proficient......

i'm hopeful the goals will come. I'd like two things to happen in the new year. MW to field the same team twice and something to improve on our corners. When i'm following us on bbc match stats it seems we're getting a lot of corners but we don't seem to score from many.
