Indie thread, then all you old codgers post Baggy and Madchester
I recently read Meet Me In The Bathroom about the New York indie scene from 2001, fun read. Some hits with facts
The Strokes got Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich to produce their second album. However their mate who produced the first one got in Julian's ear about it sounding different so they binned him. The band were apparently disappointed the end result unsurprisingly sounded exactly the same as their first album
Karen O allegedly punched Courtney Love, though she denies it
James Murphy of DFA, produced, co wrote loads of the Rapture's second album.....which they then took to another label
Murphy was heartbroken and made this, almost as a joke, but it started the whole LCD story
Jaleel from TV on the Radio complains they were the type of band girls said "Do you wanna get coffee with me and my husband" which is nonsense cos when we met him we offered him a taco
Interpol struggled to make their third album cos Paul Banks was really into speed balls, and Carlos D was having loads of threesomes with "chubby goths"

Ha, funnily enough Interpol's third album is probably my favourite! Although they're all pretty good.
