Fair enough. Realised it was going to hell in a handcart and changed it.

Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

Fair play for not using the fixture list as an excuse but he stopped short of taking responsibility for poor starting selections.

In hindsight, he maybe realises it wasn't such a good idea to publicly voice his frustrations every day this week about the fixture list. It almost invites a sluggish performance and that's exactly what we got first half.

On a positive note, the team showed immense reserves of mental strength and character to eek a draw from a game that could easily have been out-of-sight by half-time. Dunne was rock solid in defence and looks a threat from set-pieces. Austin got on the scoresheet and will hopefully kick-on from here.

It was a starting selection that didn't work out. I can see why he tried it, no left back, players needing a rest, chance to get fringe players involved. Barnsley played very well a mixture of their old style and a bit of the new, we found them very hard to get to grips with for about the fifth time in a row. A right footed left back and two left footed defensive midfielders for us made fluent play much more difficult.

Second half, very different, played much better, unlucky with a couple of chances, one or two bits of luck defensively and got what we deserved in the end.
