I’d say Tony but it was bad before he got here….
We’ve been up and down and gradually getting worse since Peter Ellis and Ray Wilkins in 95-96.

Yep, we are a 2nd tier club, firmly established over the last 50 years with a period of top tier football but unable to sustain that since mid 90s. Great risk now is dropping to be a 3rd tier club which is where we were for most of the time before late 60s. Think we are always likely to be a club that is consistently inconsistent, but I suppose the goal should be to maintain 2nd tier status and hope to maintain that for the future with the odd hope of getting to the Premier league, but would not hold my breath too long on this.

Tony Fernandes is imo the biggest culprit. Followed by the rest of the board. Including all those little percentage investors like the billionaire Mittals.
I wouldn't say I'm an expert though.

“A fool and his money are easily parted” Fernandez epitaph. Shagged by Barton, Hughes and Redknobb…. We are now in a permanent nuclear winter because of him.

Even Paladini - the greasy Italian waiter - did not cause so much grief. At least we had a common enemy with him!

Good grief have we not already done this one to death on countless other threads?

In answer to your question, no I wouldn't have Beale back.

After all this, I probably would have kept Warburton.

The rot was starting to set in before that Jackass sodded off to one of the worst so-called premier leagues in the known world.

It's football and it's sport

Nothing is permanent

Due to FFP regulations the only way we could successfully sustain first a promotion and then a long term tenure in the premier league, only way to attain this is to fill out a bigger stadium so revenues increase and better players, managers and coaches are produced and employed.

With current set up, we are always set to remain mid to lower level Championship outfit.

I would say only way for new stadium is not in area we are as this has been rebuffed for years.

And also we would have to be extremely good to attain another 10 thousand supporters particularly with Fulham and Brentford both much improved also.

Blame Hammersmith and Fulham Council

Like any good student of Aircrash investigation its a whole combination of things. It started with the signings in 2021 by Warburton and that overspend, compounded by buying too many players with iffy injury records. A terrible run without key players and then a really poor summer transfer window that bought more crocs and failed to address the lack of strikers.Great start but crap XG a ton of goals from outside the box Beale then leaving after getting a good run together but then starting a bad run, making the wrong appointment of a man who had just followed Beale and failed at Villa , if Beale had taken the Wolves job prior to Nathan Jones leaving Luton and Stevie G getting sacked we would have had a different manager. Then all the crocs again coupled with an uninspiring manager, waiting too long to correct and put in a caretaker and making an appointment for PR reasons and hope as against any sensible logic. Confidence shot, fans against the players no depth.

A number of things could have changed the course of the season but as it is it will probably cost us 4 or 5 years in any progress
