The Hundred 22:31 - Aug 27 with 3668 views | stowmarketrange | I decided to get a ticket for Lords today while I was on my way back from Southampton this morning.I wasn’t over impressed with it overall, and even some of the kids weren’t paying attention to it all.Maybe there were a lot of people who just bought tickets hoping that their franchise were going to be there. I think I’ll stick to watching it on tv in future though.Good to see the Invicibles win at last.
The Hundred on 12:07 - Aug 28 with 3264 views | numptydumpty | Went to T20 at oval enjoyed it. The hundred went to a game at Oval last season. Seems even more razzmatazz. Loud music throughout. Lots of families with young children causing chaos. Probably you might been tired Stowmarketranger as when I went, was needing a decent kip and last thing you want to do when the Hundred is on. Can see the point of it, regards revenues etc but if its pure cricket you are after, definitely not the Hundred. Seemed more like baseball but not denouncing the skills involved. Enjoyed watching it on TV and well played Tom Curran. Been emerging from his brothers shadow very nicely. [Post edited 28 Aug 2023 12:08]

The Hundred on 13:35 - Aug 28 with 3147 views | DWQPR | The Hundred is just a way of replacing the counties in the Blast in the next year or two with the franchises taking their places. The only reason the counties accepted the Hundred was because all revenue would be shared between the counties. Wish they’d get rid of the lot, re-introduce the 50 competition as a knock out cup and if they want the T20 to stay play those games on a Sunday so that the county championship can run throughout the season without interruption.

The Hundred on 14:04 - Aug 28 with 3120 views | Phildo | i'm a very occasional cricket viewer - i like watching it but don't know where silly point is to gauge my depth of knowledge. I went to one game at the Oval this year and thought there were a lot of plus points. Clearly bringing a lot of kids in , increases exposure of the women's game and is for now on terrestrial TV. Tickets were reasonable as well. It did remind me of going to a baseball game. I can imagine there are trade offs as mentioned above.

There's a lot to be said for that. Play the championship Tuesday to Friday or Wednesday to Saturday. Play the T20 s on a Sunday. The beauty of the old sunday league was that it was on a Sunday and you knew when it was going to be. Now everything is all over the place and is difficult to follow unless you are pretty dedicated
The Hundred on 15:26 - Aug 28 with 3008 views | Antti_Heinola | Went to T20 and Hundred at the Oval this year, and enjoyed both. I'm not really sure how there's room for both, though, and it was farcical this year that the Ashes was squeezed to allow for the Hundred. I've never really been a big follower of county cricket, but can see why those fans are annoyed by the Hundred. Equally, and interestingly, my kids enjoy going, but never mention 'Surrey' when we go to the T20, but love screaming about the Invincibles at the Hundred. Maybe it's just a London thing not really having much of a connection to a county.

The Hundred on 19:18 - Aug 28 with 2823 views | Logman | Sorry, but the Hundred is shit. One of the beauties of English cricket is the draw which provokes fascinating debate in clubhouses around the country after games every Saturday and Sunday evening. I understand the need for a short format and a result but this format just panders to the short attention span public who need immediate gratification and are unable to appreciate the intricacies of defensive tactics. Furthermore, one of the tenets of the Hundred was that it would get more kids playing the game. But I'm not sure that is an off-shoot. I would prefer to see the ECCB giving money to local clubs to run kids' cricket than funding this competitiion, which let's face it, is the equivalent of top 6 football on Sky TV which most people consume but do not participate in. Never going happen T20 and Hundred games weekday evenings will consistently happen because of television Watched Surrey 50 over game and basically reserve teams out. Yep but can't see why hundred and t20 both exist - all about the money

The Hundred on 09:05 - Aug 29 with 2461 views | denhamhoop2 | I abhor the competition nothing wrong with the t20 blast if there was some investment put into it. It's all about getting rid of the non Test grounds because they are not as large and do not produce the money that the Oval Old Trafford do. One of the beauties of County Cricket in this country is that smaller towns and cities have first class cricket played at them imagine getting rid of Canterbury Chelmsford Grace Road because without being nasty there are at least 3 of the Franchise Grounds which host teams who have not exactly piled up County Championships with Lancashire having won 1 since WW2 and Hampshire 2 and Glamorgan 3 in total. Whereas Leicestershire and Kent both have 3 and Essex have 8 titles in the same time span. Would say it has been a massive boost for the Womens game in this country but that's more down to actually being given a profile to show their skills. A biproduct positive has been the amount of youngsters being given a chance to play first team cricket in the One Day Cup
The Hundred on 13:27 - Aug 29 with 2340 views | TGRRRSSS | Not sure about the franchise side but it's suggested The Hundred is going to way of the dinosaur. 2 reasons - not making the ECB money (main thing) 2 - nowhere else has adopted the format in the cricketing world.

I’ve seen Surrey 2nd xi in two 50 over games this season and they weren’t very good in either. Most of the players have gone to the hundred. The same with a lot of counties better players. Especially short sighted when we’ll expect the England players to switch to the 50 over game for the World Cup in only 5-6 weeks time.

Yep. It's a lame duck, which will be a dead duck in a couple of years once the TV deal/commitment is over. The ECB are c**ts
