Pitch size 06:17 - May 18 with 1026 viewsSbh

Is there any chance of increasing the pitch size in length (especially school end) and width along Stanley Bowles side? The size has been reduced from some years ago (officially 102 x 66m).

Appreciate confines of LR but increased pitch size where possible would surely assist MC's brand of football, considering we played better away from home mostly on larger pitches this season.

If they move it back then the goal becomes invisible to the upper school end.

There have been times this season when I wished the goal was invisible to the Loft End.

The Loft End goal was invisible to our players for a large part of the season!

Once they've dug down this will be open as a possibility.

Using the Pythagoras Theorem method, if we raised the pitch on the Ellerslie Road side by approx 16 metres, forming a ‘Yeovil slope’ to the South Africa Road side, we would add another 6 foot to the overall width of the pitch.

It would mean Ellerslie Road season ticket holders would no longer have a view of the pitch, or the entire ground for that matter, but on the plus side, we in the South Africa Road would have a panoramic view of proceedings.

Worth a look

The maximum length is 120 yards or 109.7 metres and maximum width 80 yards or 73.2 metres. So we could increase length wise by about 7.7m (from 102m) and widen it by 7.2m (from 66m). That will bring the pitch into the stands

I suggest instead of lengthening into the school end which is the away end, why not encroach into the Loft where the home supporters are so that fans can help to defend when the team is defending the goal at the Loft End, and help to score goals and take corners when the team is attacking down the Loft. Fans at both Stanley Bowles stand and SAR stand can chip in to help take throw ins and put in much needed crosses from the wings for our strikers to take a punt.

Fans can literally be the 12th man

Where are you going to put the linesmen?

Strap them to drones and have them hovering over the pitch.

Maybe give the keeper a bonus for downing one. That'll motivate Begovic to work on his kicking.
