Walking past the Queens Tavern this afternoon on my way to be ‘part of the next chapter’ (ie renew my season ticket), I noticed a green coach, seemingly abandoned, outside (not on the road though). It was a Bedford Duple Vega and looked like something out of the Minder episode where Arthur Daley and Ray bought an old police vehicle to do dodgy coach tours.
Now I’m aware this is highly likely to be a Spackman and that the thing has probably been there for decades, but I don’t normally approach the ground from that direction or, on the odd occasion I have, I don’t recall seeing it before (mind you, I miss half the goals we score so nothing new there).
So if some kindly soul has either the knowledge or patience (preferably both) to explain what it’s all about to a simple old fool he’d be very grateful.
By the way, I left via Loftus Road (my usual route) and noticed a number of JCB’s parked up on the concourse. Just the things for digging down! |  | | |  |

That did occur to me but I don’t have a smartphone with a camera. Also, I’ve never been able to figure out how to upload photos/avatars etc. Says something about ‘Tinypic’ and ‘PhotoBucket’ in the ‘How do I …?’ section but I’m afraid it’s all beyond me (maybe a ‘tutorial’ session or two for clueless old gits in the Crown & Sceptre would help!). Edit: just scrolled down a bit further and wished I hadn’t. They’ve got a mocked up pic of Agent Orange in a QPR shirt behind the bar. Whose idea was that FFS? Feels like the shirt’s been sullied. [Post edited 29 May 20:07]
