Again I don't think we played that well in the first half but did the important bit and took our chances.. However we absorbed Bristol's early pressure and just left them racking up half chances. Larin is such an improvement over a player like Armstrong because he doesn't need 10 chances to convert one into a goal. We seem to have slightly shifted more into a counter attacking side, which is a sensible with the organised and drilled sides in the championship.
Bragg did well when he came on, just needs to bulk up a bit. All of our players need to be a bit more aware on the ball as we were getting bumped off a lot.

The scary thing is, given the final result I don't think we looked that good for most of the match. Agree that our bench ATM doesn't appear to add much to the team later on. However, some new players are going to need some time to get up to speed. |

Tough watch but a great end. Larin and Mubama show benefits of having good strikers who can clinically finish chances in tight games. Mubuma looks to want to play for the crowd which is hopefully the start of a massive feedback loop.
We were clearly on top in the second half but couldn't convert chances into goals.
Hopefully we are starting to get over the baggage from last season and get some of the unbeaten run's confidence back. Losing at Watford might actually have given us the perfect mental reset.

We struggled to get through a very organised Colchester side.After the first half, they didn't really produce much but quite happily sat deep.
Peretz did very well with a double save in the first half. BBD didn't do much at all. Larin and Bragg did really well when they came on. Larin nosed one in and Akachukwu scored a really composed goal on his debut.

Great game of football. Boro played well and hopefully they can get over all this deliberate over reaction to the spygate nonsense and move on.
Stewart was really putting it about last night and Jander was on fire. Scienza seemed to be playing while injured for about half an hour.
Crowd played it's full part. Great atmosphere.

Thought midfield and attack were completely overwhelmed by a very aggressive boro. Larin and Scienza and Azaz had bad games.
However Wood, Bree and Peretz were absolutely brilliant.
Boro were on top for most of the game, but hopefully not getting anything out of it will now play on their minds.
Hopefully a great game to look forward to at St Mary's.

Great performance. Really went for it. I hope Wellington is ok.
Team as a whole played well. Sadly, the quality of their bench was the deciding factor.
Commentators seemed to want to paint us as a plucky small team out of their depth, unused to VAR etc hopefully we can get back to the PL next season and play Fulham, Arsenal and MC twice a year AS USUAL.

A solid workmanlike win which was never really in doubt. Although Archer, Charles and Larin all had excellent games, everyone played well.
Tonda has raised the game of everyone. It's a privelege to watch this Saints team ATM.
Ipswich slipping up means that we still have an outside shot at automatic promotion.

Right result but didn't make it easy for ourselves. Two good goals and unfortunately a solid goal let in but we squandered a lot of chances.
Derby were a solid Championship team, hard tackling and left their feet in. To our credit, we rose above it and although didn't hit the heights of the Wrexham game we ground out a win. At this stage of the season, the result is more important than the performance.
After Ipswich beating Norwich second place is probably unachievable now but with agent Ings scoring the winning goal to beat Hull, third place is becoming a possibility. Fantastic stuff from Tonda seeing as we were 21st back in November.

The game was pretty much over after Shea's wonder goal. Took our foot off the gas a bit too much at times. However that's probably for the best as some big games are coming up.

Despite the end result being the best of the season the game itself was far from a classic and got worse the longer it went on. Norwich played a very physical game, good job Scienza was not available.Saints showed great resolve not to rise to it. Ref and his assistants must have been wearing blinkers not to spot half of it.
Good goal from Azaz. Great double save from Peretz late in the game. Struggling to add much else.
Hopefully, the potential importance of the result was playing on everyone's mind holding them back a bit.

Started well, then Fulham came back into it. Had several chances in the first half.
Second half much the same. However this current Saints team have great self belief and can physically impose themselves on the opposition.
Got the lead, Stewart again showing why he deserves a new deal.
Best part is we looked equal to Fulham. I hope this is a real confidence booster for everyone.
THB and Scienza were fantastic, Downes and Larin took the game to Fulham. Can't fault anyone really.

Great league match performance.
Aside from going to sleep to let Weds score, we controlled the match and scored exactly when we needed to.
Gave some key players a rest and avoided any further injuries.
Stayed in the hunt with the best form in the league, which is exactly where we need to be to put pressure on those above.

Clearing the decks of unnecessary players also looks to have reinvigorated the squad. Gradually inching towards playoff places.

All over after 30 minutes, we really weren't in it. Lots of players having off days.
Second half complete turnaround. Tonda made some great subs and they turned the game.
Great second half performance from everyone but Matsuki, Stewart and Charles all seized their chance and really took the game to Leicester.
Both Stephens and Manning scored great goals.

Defence looks settled, Bree and Wellington are both playing well. THB is playing some fantastic passes out of defence and Peretz is a presence.
Azaz and Scienza were probably our weakest players. Stewart is creating chances with knock downs but no one could finish them off. Charles showed our strength in depth when we lost Downes.
Edozie and Larin both looked really good when they came on. Settling all our nerves.

Ross Stewart was the only positive in this.
Rest just bad. Our players seem to spend more time running away from Hull's goal than running towards it. At one point, 2:of them even ran into each other.
Manning and Peretz at clear fault for each goal.
Tonda needs to develop some flexibility fast. 5 at the back against an injury ravaged side is just daft.
