Despite relegation in 1996 and fierce criticism of asset stripping, Richard Thompson stays on as Chairman, turning down interest from Chris Wright. He continues to run a sustainable model of buying low, selling high.

Could never stay on his feet, Sinclair - should have worn longer studs! 😉

Time to phone Chelsea....

Maybe fielding half their U23s, we could agree to take their place in the Papa John's Trophy too and they waive the loan fees 😉

Should be plastered all over the training ground walls to put some fear into the other wasters who think its ok to phone it in till their contracts are up.

For most, it really won't get better than this without putting in a shift.

And as for Bonne, forget it! Made it very clear he had no interest in being here. Either arrogant, thick or both.

A real pity, that.

But on the plus side, "Other Championship clubs are also interested" might help drum up more than Millwall apparently want to pay.

Loftus Road.

Late to the party. Not having any knowledge of the Heston site, is it completely beyond the realms of possibility to eventually add a ground to the new training facility, or purchase more land around it to do so if no opportunities exist nearer?

Unfortunately it's really not the fans anymore. It's the sponsorships, TV money, and dirty money of said owners. It wouldn't matter a jot to these players and management if they were playing in front of less than half empty stadiums as long as their money keeps rolling in from other sources.

You Have To Emigrate

I'd go to Crete, buying a home like this one:

Then I'd brew mead with the local honey, which would become legendary and earn the income needed to put bread on the table!

Gallen thinks QPR should loan out Armstrong...
at 12:38 24 Aug 2022

Maybe this is where things started to break down with Warbs, re. the youth - even if Armstrong was nowhere near becoming a first-team regular, if he was making 10 minute cameos a year ago and told to run at defenders, perhaps he'd have got onto those radars and been year further on in his development now.

But that may well be over-simplified by me. Who knows if he'd have been physically ready...

What I don't understand is why he couldn't be found a League Two loan last year. He had a reputation as a promising player back then, too. He could have been a bit further along in his development.

Now all of a sudden we're told clubs are forming a queue. What's changed?

I don't think he was that far off the England squad before he got injured was he? Imagine if he tore it up for a few months, got included in the World Cup squad and got a couple of caps. Sell on would be worth a lot more to us then, I reckon :)

Annual interview with the manager...
at 11:58 12 Jul 2022

With this much emphasis on seeing young talent come through the youth system, what's being done about loaning players out for the coming year - and how are the clubs selected? Does it really help players like Bettache to go out to basket-case clubs like Oldham, or Kelman to be entrusted to the likes of Steve Evans for 6 months? How easy will it be to get other prospects like Armstrong a League One/Two loan this year? And how do we get out of this recent rut of loaning to National League/National League South sides, which feels like a regression...?

Albion Rovers Kyle Doherty coming back for second trial

Good luck to him - turns out our scouts were watching him 2 or 3 months before the first trial so clearly something they really like about him:

Looks like he's got some strength to him as well.

Hampton and Richmond Next Saturday
at 09:41 11 Jul 2021

Don't forget this is the same Hampton who gave Oldham a tough afternoon in the FA Cup last season. They're not push-overs. Last year, we had two on loan at Eastbourne Borough, another on loan at Oxford City - all at the same level as Hampton.

While you'd hope to see some of those get loans to Conference National clubs as a progression in their development this year, others will be farmed out to clubs like Hampton.

Forget having Todd Kane in the starting XI, if it gave the youngsters a proper test and told the coaching team a thing or two, then yesterday's game did it's job.

Heads-up to anyone driving via Hampton Court - the flower show will be on, which might slow the journey home down.
