just did not have the cutting edge despite being awarded a penalty Hammers Keeper was outstanding but Green made some great saves too.
Players gave it all Great to see Fer back-he could make all the difference with the run in that we have but feel that other teams have raised their game and looks like we have left it too late
Oh if only the penalty had been dispatched........

This team has given up. Gutless, no fight, no skill, no ideas, nothing good to show.

Nedums two yellows summed up the whole clusterf++ck

Only Green earned his money. This team wouldnt even manage mid table Championship.

Sadly a very disjointed affair, we are clearly all at sea at the moment running around with no real purpose. We never looked like scoring despite all the huff and puff. The wheels really have fallen off big time and with Morgan out and probably gone we are not half theme that started off so well. Can we beat anybody in this form?

Thank God Swansea still have to play Arsenal and Man City!

What a shocker of a performance. Up there with the defeat against Sheffield Utd for me. Nobody played well. I thought we lacked a leader on the pitch today. Someone to get riled up roll up the sleeves and get stuck in. It looked like we were of the belief we just had to show up to win.

Long who is normally so industrious did nothing, Pelle got no service at all, Fonte looked rattled Elia & Djuricic for me add nothing to the side and I hope we don't waste money on buying them. Clyne didn't bomb forward.

Yes they got 2 penalties and we had a player sent off but we did nothing to warrant anything from this game in my opinion. I'm now looking over our shoulder at Swansea... Villa and Leicester both have momentum now with City on the last day. I'm getting nervous...

Well put, my friend.

Did you notice they started the second half with NINE players from last season in the Championship, five of whom are well into their 30's.

Is it any wonder?

Saints never really took control of this match and thaty meant Sunderland were always going to have chances - which they gratefully took.

We only came alive after JWP was sent off, the players seemed to respond to this by upping their energy and we then dominated the game. Unfortunately for us we couldn't create the equaliser. In fact despite having lots of possession we didn't create enough chances. Pantilimon was only really troubled in the last few minutes of the game.

This was always going to be a difficult game but we didn't rise above the mediocrity of Sundelrand but rather we matched them and then paid the consequences.

Not many positives other than this was a new ground for me. Locals were friendly but still not confident that they will escape relegation - what with Arsenal and Chelsea aways as their last 2 fixtures.

Inept, ineffective and complete tosh. Time for the coaches to stand up and be counted. They're not as good as they think they are. Thank goodness we had points on the board earlier now we look like ending 8th!

8th !!!!

Shambolic,if l showed up to work and put in a shift like this l would be fired. What a pathetic performance, didn't think we could deteriorate this much in such a short time.l wonder if they really want to play in the Europa League,no one really came out of this game with any credit. Both goals were poorly defended and should never of happened,we're we go from here is any body's guess.Supported Saints since 1954 and can't remember such a lackluster display from our team.
