Fantastic display so unlucky best side by a mile JWP at last fulfilled his potential and stepped up on the big occasion .Forster was shakey and should have stopped first and maybe even second Gabby was pure magic very proud to be a Saints fan tonight although bitterly disappointed mourinho said before match the best team would win he was wrong and almost admitted it.

ARRRRRGH!

In the cold light of a week or so's time I will probably look back on a brilliant game that made me proud to be a Saints fan...but for now I feel as gutted and angry as Le Tiss was. It was there for us and we played more than well enough. Seeing Koeman's gloating tweet made me fume.

Yoshi covered Stephen's really well and did not make a mistake, JWP was v good, but in Manolo we have an absolute gem. Well done Les Reed. He will follow in Pelle's footsteps and be Italy's CF before the end of this season.

Sadly after being so confident in FF last season, I found myself chewing my nails every time the ball went near him, surely it is time to bench the big man and give Hassan a go.

Great game, superb performance but no luck whatsoever. At least we were caught on the break while pressing for a deserved winner. We were so much better than them that even, as richsaints says, Mourinho had to admit it. It was a dreadful shame that the winner was such a soft goal but now is not the time to look at blame for all of the poor goals we conceded.

Gabby was man of the match followed by any one of 6 or 7 other Saints players. Ibrahmovic hit a free kick that should have been saved and a header that was basically a sitter - that doesn't make him man of the match. Oh and we should have been playing against 10 for most of the second half but the referee bottled it.

Well done Saints and bad luck.

Lamppost was not in the correct position for the 2nd goal and he was ball watching for the 3rd goal
Oriol in the whole of the match had to stay in front of him all of the match only when we had a free kick or a corner did he move over the halfway line.
We as supporters knew this as our weakness and so did man utd all they did was wait for him to wander all over the pitch when under pressure .
Where does js goes from here well I think you have to ask Mr dof the worst manager in the epl ever

Absolutely gutted, but a fantastic match and a great effort by the lads and well worth staying up in the wee hours glued to the tv. Saints were clearly the better team. JWP found a new gear and was impressive. Yoshida and Oriel were strong, and it was great fun watching Bertrand, Tadic and Redmond cause havoc. Gabby is awesome - getting into the right place (one bad run aside) with quality finishing for a well-taken hat trick. We needed him months ago.

We lost, but gave a much better and more honest account of ourselves than in 2003. Big finish to the season please boys!

First of all, I had a great day supporting the team with fellow fans at Wembley. The fans and the team were fantastic. My first thought from leaving was whether Manolo should have come off. Jose did not take off his best striker and look what happened. Manolo was the one who I feel wanted that winning goal more than anyone. We were chipping away at Utd and Claude did change things around when I could see the goal coming. This may have been Claude's big gamble. Would we had lost anyway or did his gamble not work? Saying that to give Zlatan that much space, the big man he is, is questionable. I guess that is Utd for you, they do not stop til the very end and get lucky. This is why most fans do not like them. They end up winning!

That does not take anything away from Saints who just could not do it for the want of trying. I have the most respect for the team. However, I was a bit frustrated with Boufal, still up to his ballerina football. Just pass the ball, especially when the minutes are fading. It was also strange Puel put Rodriguez on having taken Manolo off. Manolo wanted that third more than anyone. Even taking Steven Davis off I thought was strange seeing as he was a driving force.

Zlatan got man of the match, but to say it was deserved I would not say. The wall could have been better for the first and Forster could have got a hand to it. Zlatan was also not marked for the winner.

As for action though and near chances, it was Saints all the way. I am proud of the team and all involved with regards to Saints. We March On with pride.

On the train to Wembley we had a discussion with some Man Utd fans about the possible result. We all agreed it would end 1-0, but disagreed about who would win. One of the Manchester fans said "On the train home, I hope the steps are slippery with your tears".

He got his wish.

Saints gave a tremendous performance and I feel very proud.

Firstly, to be in the middle 32,814 Saints fans singing loud and proud was an honour and a memory my wife, daughter and I will cherish forever. So disappointed with the result and the terrible officiating for the opening goal, we were winning for 2 seconds. Also disappointed with Oriol's tackle that conceded the free kick, gutted the post stopped him making amends in the final minutes.
That said, every one of the first eleven worked their nuts off and should be very proud of what was achieved, even if it wasn't all we wanted.
Forster, did ok but not the as fast as last season. Yoshi, worked hard but hesitant to move forwards like VVD does. Jack Stephens appears to have gone unnoticed, I watched his play off the ball, spacially aware and organising the back four. Many have doubts, I have none, that's a future England CB there so long as a "big" club doesn't sign him and waste his potential (whatever happened to Chambers, Shaw, Schneiderlin). The full backs worked tirelessly and we're a handful all day. Oriol faught hard and was a rock, Steven ran his socks off but is too short to be in a wall, JWP I have been a fan of for years, like Beckham, this lad can land a 40yd cross on a 20p piece, Redmond tirelessly running but why must he shoot 4 yds wide whenever he is just outside the box, more dangerous inside it, Tadic trickery outshone United's and Gabbi is close to fast becoming my daughter's favourite player, Charlie Austin watch out. As for the subs, Boufal is trying to be Ronaldo but he ain't, need some gym time, Long came close but perhaps should have come on 10 minutes earlier, JayRod didn't have time to make an impact as all the time wasting at the end. It must have got windy after the goal, their players kept getting blown over. Anyway, enough waffle, thanks to all the players and staff for making this experience possible and all the fans for winning the battle on the stands, their lot only started singing in the train station on the way home and they only had 1 bloody song.

A really mixed bag but concentration and stamina were always going to be issues today. Stephens should drop to the bench for a while after his performance today and JWP was all at sea and needs a rest.

Still a win is a win and at least we are scoring for fun now. We cannot keep Boufal on the bench and waste his talent so put Nathan Redmond at AMF, Boufal on the left wing, Tadic right and Gabbiadini on top.

And emotional day ramps up the memory; on any other day and in any other fixture This game will probably not have remained long in the memory

Coming from behind to win a match in white shirtshasn't happened for a while!

My takeaway from this game is that
we have a decent squad of players who are slowly but surely blending into a team
Luongo is destined to never score a goal for QPR
Neil Warnock is destined to rant into eternity! (Saying that in an affectionate way) check out the final two minutes of the full replay on QPR player!
Smithies should keep hold of that green top, black shorts White Socks combo - so much classier than the Canary outfit
