Fcuking Match Thread v Preston 19:31 - Dec 1 with 26453 viewsBoston

Firstly, we will win. Secondly, I was there last year with one of my nephews, an uninspiring day, but always enjoy seeing Gunga Din. Thirdly, sat opposite two of our more notorious fans from the 80's on my way home. Looking forward to some nostalgic alpha male banter on the trip back, sadly my travelling companions were sh!t faced and fell asleep before the train had even pulled out the station. Spent the journey listening to snoring and farting.

See the OP of this thread:
Were they Little Mark Gregor the Terror and Sir Kenneth once of Portobello,Boston you little tease?

Not digging the team selection and possible formations at all.

lot of the squad carrying injuries?

Bit like Ollie oop at Leeds ,1-0 up through Ainsworth and then the Brian Deane deluge x4.....Oh dear.

Thanks Brian, interesting then and showing attacking intent. Will it be Wheeler or Mackie at full back? Probably neither.
Hope Chair gets plenty cover and allowed to play his game, need Scowen and Luongo to be disciplined

Good point re cover.

Not sure what Manning's story is. Must be slightly off form as he's now been overtaken by Wheeler and Chair.

Mackie selection is more mystifying than Chair.

I think he should be benched but one thing about Mackie is that he won't hide while he's struggling for form, in a bad run the manager will need that type of character so can see a justification to be fair

I can see the logic as he will unsettle home defences, and does that well.

But his touch is off at the moment and he's a bit fortunate that no-one else is playing out of their skin in his position.

A cheeky 1-0 if we can keep them out until half time.

Hopefully second season blues and he comes through this but certainly thought he would be a big player again this year

Always remember this game up North and the way all the Rangers players scuffed the frozen ground pre-game with unsure looks on their faces and the way all the Rangers fans knew right there and then that we'd lose.

What about the mid-week Stockport 3 QPR 3 Gallen last minute equalizer though a few seasons on?

Anyone got opinions about Chair? No idea what kind of player he is. Just that he’s v small - 5ft 2.

Anyone guess the formation?

3-5-2 as most games surely?

Chair gets the Freeman role, Pav and Wheeler wing backs, Mackie and Wash up front.

I've seen a few bits and pieces, Nix, but not enough. From what I have seen he plays behind the strikers or wide on the left cutting in, very neat, good touch, always looking for the forward pass. Promising player. Lets hope he can perform without anxiety today. Always like to see young lads play away games out of the glare, and there isn't more 'out of the glare' than Preston v QPR in December.

Ya, that's what I went with as well. Hope Wheeler's had some training time for that position.

Skillful, technical player with good close control. PNE will try to bully him whenever he has possession, as is their wont, and we'll have to see how he copes withthe attention. Hopefully Mackie and Washington will be trying to protect him a bit as they probably won't be doing much goalscoring.
Strap line of "Chair promoted from the bench to give Rangers their first win since the Ark landed"?

He started last match and didn't do much - tbf, did more than Conor who DOES keep his place.

Of the 3 those and Mackie - Mackie did the best v Brentford I think.

5' 2" is seriously short, even SWP is a towering 5'5" by comparison.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

So who is the lone striker? Washington who has proved that he can't do it on numerous occasions?!!
