And Paul Cannell too.

The return fixture, notable for a few things...

Same score
Similar weather conditions
Good example of Mr Gregory pocketing a few quid on gate receipts (15,757 officially)
Standing in the larger Paddock
A 50/100 strong group of Geordies turning up at the back of the Loft.
(On reflection, probably accidentally. They were encouraged to walk across the pitch to the School End about 20 mins before kick off).
And, you can make out the boys enclosure quite well. I know many a fan asked about this over the years, front of the Loft, you'll see a block wall.

Edit...also note the lack of Newcastle fans.

They had a decent team up there that year, McDermott, Hibbitt, Kennedy, Moncur, MacDonald.

And Irving Nattrass. No idea if he was any good but I always remember the name.

Talking of the 70s check this out and Gerrys thunderbolt

Also good to a couple of our fans celebrating in the home end

See, it isn't new that we have penalties given against us for nothing & that we try to chuck away a three goal lead!

Thanks PP for posting this.

Liar...

Myself, Cliff Timoney and Chris Henneke were stood blind drunk in Stan’s new house in ‘Neaston’ one night though. What a bloody nuisance we were.

Highlights from the 2-2 away to leeds from that season. Another game we were robbed in!

This was during the three day week, so we had an early kick off. I went on the "football Special" with the timings for the original 3.00 pm start, so we were stuck at Leeds station for a while. I found it a bit hair raising!

Crikey, I've just watched this again and spotted a bloke I went to school with, 'allo Fitzy! There he is standing to the right of the goal as the first one went in.

My first full season as an R
That was a great season and thanks for posting but for a couple of things

Poland and bite your legs Hunter, kicking the air

Leeds winning the league, a very naughty me did kick Harvey up the bum at the end of the game and he chased me the length of the pitch but was a slow fecker LOL 33K gate

I spoke to Joe Mercer when he was caretaker about why he would not pick Stanley Basically they never got on at Man C.

Many great players great games and great goals.

Can you imagine players today playing on those pitches?

Feck the Prem.

PS
I know us old gits go on about 75/76 but really, it was a football travesty we did not win the league that season, I guess you had to have been there.

Harvey missed a penalty in his next competitive game. Okay it was the Charity Shield three months later at Wembley but you obviously rattled him.
