Arsenal v Chelsea 15:24 - Aug 1 with 7734 viewsqpr_1968

FA cup final. how times have changed from watching the build up at 9.00 in the morning.
switching over from both sides, itv and bbc.
the one that sticks in my mind most other than our final in '82, is watford v everton in 1984 for some reason.
but anyway, not that anyone gives a shit, so i won't ask who you want to win, personally i cant stand both sides.

but going for them in south west london..2-1.

Hate Chelsea. Have a soft spot for Arsenal. Very small and not very soft, but I don;t mind them.

First Cup Final I can really remember was '78. Ipswich 22 Arsenal 17 in the backyard the following day, Brian Talbot scored all of them for both teams. In reality, I believe it was a drab game. But it was the first time I soaked in all that colour, it was magic in a box in the corner of our living room.

At the 82 final it was all a bit weird missing the build up, also it pissed down with rain and the atmosphere between the two sets of fans was pretty hostile, I remember an uncooked whole chicken and load of full beer cans along with this chunky flagpoles being thrown down onto the spurs fans below us.

Have to retract the Fat Frank thing. I never got that.

I'm not sure how it got started but I do remember joining in with "One man went to lift, went to lift Frank Lampard, one man and a JCB, went to lift Frank Lampard" etc. He was no Lee Tomlin was he?

The grass is always greener.

What’s with the lettering on the back of the Arsenal players shirts? Usually seen in war films featuring the Germans.

Maybe a strange complaint, but I've never understood the purpose of wearing the next seasons' kits for the last few weeks of a season. If you're going to win a trophy in the 19/20 season, surely you should be wearing your 19/20 kits

Should that not be a straight red for the penalty? Denying a goal scoring opportunity without attempting to play the ball. Very similar to Luiz against Man City who was given a red.

Zouma was deemed to be covering. He wouldn’t have got there on a segway but still... VAR innit.

I think that because they now want to avoid the "double punishment" of a red card plus a penalty, you don't see those given as straight reds very often. But to me, that's absolutely a red. No attempt to play the ball at all, and it was intentionally stopping a clear goal scoring opportunity.
