I've been working from home since the end of March, and solo since about end of April/beginning of May when my wife's office reopened.
Some days feel a bit lonely as a resut rattling around the house all day, particularly in Lockdown Mk2 for Leicester when everything got shut again - it was literally 23 hours a day at home, maybe 24 if I didnt go out for a run!
Busy at times, and am involved in administering a virtual running race series for the county which is keeping me extra busy when those races are on, but I'll be glad when the real things come back - if only because I'll no longer have to deal with cheating! (Honestly, if you want an idea of the morals of wider society, organise a virtual running race, it shows some things up...)
I did get my guitar out a few months ago and started trying to relearn it and annoyingly has gone by the wayside - my own fault, I've just been too busy with the running stuff and work.
We'd also bought and sold houses before lockdown, but of course that has ground to a complete halt for months now. It should be in a position where its ready to exchange now but our buyer has been an absolute nightmare, spending time disappearing off the face of the earth, only to suddenly reappear when we threaten to pull the plug on him, does something, then disappears again. I *think* it is inching toward the finish line, but without Covid it should have been done by May, and even with Covid it should have been done by now. Driven me nuts!
All the non-QPR football thats still on at the moment doesn't interest me much truth be told - QPR or nothing for me really.
Mostly listening to music whilst surrounded by cats and training.
youtube or whatever, being able to basically watch any live performance in the last seventy years at the click of a button is amazing, like having a time machine and a teleporter.
Lemmy in my living room, deep joy
been working at home since november , so pretty much used to it , bit like groudhog day at present as construction recruitment isnt that busy well lets be honest its fecking dead , two 6 month old lab pups keeping me busy , luckily found at the start of lock down at 8 weeks old stan and ollie . apart from that bored of
No Football no cinema no holidays mainly because im skint not doing normal things . no sign of things getting backto anyting close to normal anytime soon
Though we are busy, too busy actually, I’m not recruiting anyone except temp labour. We’re coping by myself and the core lads working longer days and six day weeks. Generally the Boston metro’s construction industry is mixed, for every busy outfit another is slow, I think the inner city work is holding up better than the suburbs.
There's two long threads on here you could chew through from page 1.
One is populated by about a dozen people all trading misery, blame, insults and skewed "facts" to back up whatever their political persuasion is whilst searching for the blame pinata.
One is populated by about a dozen people trading niche music that stemmed from a time of joy when they were young, dumb and full of cum; but they are now older so have less cum but are having a renascence and reliving the old and celebrating the new.
I'm currently on page 86 of one of these threads and have found it wonderfully emotional and joyous to relive those pages traveled thus far.
Enjoy
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
