Hardest Rangers XI 20:41 - Oct 10 with 4376 viewsBrianMcCarthy

Don't think we've done this but the Mark Dennis thread got me thinking.

I'll do an XI. Every mention is a vote.

I'll kick off:

Mark Dennis at LB
Broken Nose Falco at CF
Gavin Maguire at CB
Macca at CB
Impey at RW

Rodney Marsh wasn't a player to be trifled with up front and often got his own back on those defenders trying to put him out of a game. I remember him once picking up an opponent by the hair whilst offering him a hand and a smile. Big enough to look after himself.

The grass is always greener.

Alex Higgins (no not that one).

Only made one sub appearance in about 2001, last game of the season away at Wolves. Put in the hardest tackle I ever heard, the sound of the impact reverberated around Molineux.

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

Any more for this?

I'll do the final count tomorrow.

i shouldnt imagine strikers enjoyed trying to get past danny shittu to be honest

Big Danny was a large unit, but struck me as the quintessential gentle giant. I'd be doubtful whether he's ever smacked anybody.

Surprised Mark Lazarus didn't get the right wing spot. He was as tough as nails and when he retired from football he became a Minder.

Still taking votes, so that's another for him.

couple of late entrants
Stuart Wardley - played in his trial match with a broken leg
Warren Neill - great right hook in one of the Euro games at Highbury I think
Devon White, would punch anything, ask Everton.

Poll: Remy - can he play in the playoffs - who's opening post is the best?

Think there's a case for Simon Stainrod and Warren Neill in this clip...

The Gary Waddock tackle in front of the Ellerslie Road stand on Steve Moran. A 50-50 and Gary never flinched, Moran had to go off IIRC.

Didn't Paul Parker break Gary Megson's leg at Loftus Road one evening game?
