| Ideas above one's station - Report on 14:00 - Nov 2 by 1MoreBrightonR | ts like that pretty much on my laptop to be honest. Its very clear in some ways but has a tiny amount of jumpyness which makes following the ball tough. definitely took me a second to realise Kane hadn't skied the ball for his goal as i had no idea where the ball was. |
Me too. The jumpyness is a problem, quick passing movements especially. Is there a solution our end to this, might be an idea if the clubs got suppliers to explain the technicalities in layman’s terms, particularly if there is something we can do about it.

| Ideas above one's station - Report on 14:13 - Nov 2 by francisbowles | I plug my laptop into the TV with an HDMI lead. The stream is very good on the whole. I have had to adjust the TV screen mode once or twice because it was too dark or bright. I do struggle a bit with crosses as they have a white banner covering the seats behind the goal and the ball gets lost against it. |
I do struggle seeing if we have scored at times, I thought the Adomah one went in in the first half, my misses claimed that the number of beers I have on a match day is a bigger factor than the quality of the stream though

| Ideas above one's station - Report on 11:27 - Nov 2 by Northernr | I guess it's there to stop a) messages on shirts that could incite a crowd, or controversial political statements (think Robbie Fowler once had a political message on his which was maybe why they brought it in, something about Liverpool dockers?) b) time wasting There's already a time wasting yellow card rule, so no need for this, and there's no crowd to incite atm. The rule, and the application of it at the weekend, just felt completely unnecessary. been back and checked the full 90 on the offish and you;'re right, he plays 97, so I've edited that line out of fairness. BBC MBM run down had it as 98. |
Blimey I thought I was the only one who cared about added time - but that's very fair of you to do that. Someone asked me the other day how I viewed a match - as a ref or as a fan - from the safety of a 3-2 win I can be quite dispassionate about it but believe me I WAS screaming 'Come on ref, blow the whistle' in the 97th minute and Mrs PP was her usual calm, annoying, reasonable self 'He can't hear you' she said - luckily before my blood pressure could get any higher and any further words were 'exchanged' he blew for full time! Argue with Mrs PP about that shirt law all the time, its a pointless law and as you say if the removal of the shirt DID result in time wasting or incited the crowd then a yellow could easily be issued. Likewise if the message was political, racial, homophobic, illegal or caused offence the player/club could be punished after the game - has nothing to do with the match per se so that's why I think the yellow is wrong in law like you.

I find the comms is a split second ahead of the pictures, so if we score, I know slightly before if it's a goal, and if we miss, the supense is also gone, because Andy and Nick haven't started celebrating. It's tiny, but it makes a huge difference.

Yes FB the white sheet directly behind the net at the School end & i have lost the ball in this many times , when the shot left Kanes foot it disappeared until the net bulged which is far from ideal .

| Ideas above one's station - Report on 08:27 - Nov 3 with 638 views | Blue_Castello | Another excellent report, it was good to see MW put his principles to one side and pick his strongest three to support the main striker. Surely the bottom line is we invoked the contract extension and we are paying his wages so we are shooting ourselves in the foot if we don't consider Samuel for selection. I'm sure we all realise the squad itself isn't strong but if all our players are fit we have a team that can compete as we saw on Saturday. That was a real pleasure to watch for the high and lows encapsulated in the report, wished I had been in my seat in the Ellerslie to witness the winner and loved seeing the team spirit. The players know that they will get booked for the shirt thing, but they do it anyway. So they could then get sent off for a minor accidental second yellow card, or a ban later on in the season when they reach five yellows. Stupid behaviour, and should be fined by the club. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I use HDMI too and agree with all the above.

He's showing support for a beleaguered team-mate. I get your point, but as norf says, it's a crazy rule made even more ridiculous when there's no crowd there. I think all yellow cards come with fines anyway.

The actual FA fine is tiny, whether club or player pay that and if club add a fine of their own I have no idea.

I notice that as well. You can't see the ball go in the goal or you lose it as it goes across the goalmouth. Those massive white banners/flags are not in the best of positions are they?
