How can they lose that kind of money coming out of the prem and selling the players they did last summer?

This is for their last season in the Premier League

Can we not knock it?

FFP doesn’t apply to Premiership seasons.

I think it’s a disgrace that any team can make a loss in the Premiership considering the money sloshing around.

In 2018-19 they had the twelfth highest wage bill in the Premier League and the second highest wages/turnover ratio at just under 85%. I wouldn't think their 2019-20 accounts would show much different. This with a 12,000 capacity stadium with not much in the way of extra income generating facilities. The economics of the madhouse.

Bournemouth exist on owner funding (breaking FFP to get promoted like us) and then TV money while it lasted.

Parachutes and £80m in sales last summer plus Kelly and Brooks (possibly Cook and Billing too) next in reserve gives them a decent safety net.

Couple more years mismanagement like this one (though could still wing it through the playoffs yet) and serious trouble awaits under current rules, but then there's whatever relaxation of FFP may or may not transpire to come.

Oh yeah sorry forgot to add, we're the most hard done by club in the world ever ever waaaah.

All true, though one extra thing to factor in - they still owe A LOT on the big transfer fees they paid out previously for the likes of Solanke, Ibe, Ake etc.

True - crosses out that £80m - but I suspect it'll have been done in some way that it's not so bad in the books probably.

Owner remains confident.

There's something really wrong about them mentioning that the CEO's wife is Russian. Dirty Russians.
Presumably such largesse would be ok if she was from Bournemouth?
