If you don't want your or your family's medical records to be sold to commercial companies - almost certainly including the Americans - then you have to opt out by 23rd June. https://medconfidential.org/how-to-opt-out/

That's a very succinct explanation of why slimy Matt Hancock selling everybody's personal NHS medical records to a private American corporation is a BAD THING. Thanks Baz.

Palatir is not a private corporation, you can buy a share of Palantir for around $25.
This is like someone forming an opinion on QPR after reading the "Save Warren Farm" website

Palantir is a big US technology corporation founded by Peter Thiel, who spent over $1 million to help elect Donald Trump. Palantir has no track record in healthcare, but has identified health data services as a target market. The NHS, with its global reputation, taxpayer funding, and unusually comprehensive datasets, was identified as a particularly lucrative target and Palantir has been wooing NHS bosses over cocktails for some time.
As a company specialising in security and surveillance, much of Palantir’s work is secret. What is known though is it is inolved in mass surveillance, predictive policing which is clearly racist, and secret operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Would you trust this company with your health data?!

Yes. In the same way I trust the NHS with my Health data.....And the Apple Health App, and the app that came with my bathroom scales....
Why/how you're talking about racism in relation to Palantir providing services to help improve the NHS is beyond me, don't get the relevance?
Rumor has it, Palantir helped the US government locate Bin Laden. So the privacy stuff is with good reason. I don't give the US government reasons to hunt me down in attack helicopters, so I'm not that concerned for me personally.

Anyone watching Slippery Hancock at today’s inquiry will know exactly why I don’t want him selling off my medical records. He said earlier that the was never a shortage of PPE in the NHS 🙄

There is a simple reason for mentioning Palantir's association with racism and that's company values.
A great many people would never want their personal health data handled by a company that falls far short of the values they hold.
What kind of fit and proper test was done on them? Perhaps none whatsoever. And, yes, company values do matter in business.

Very good. Do you have a funny one about Palantir's association with Cambridge Analytica too?
Should the NHS return all the medicine too, because of past controversies with AstraZenica and Pfizer and GSK and just about every other pharmaceutical company?
