| Phew, that was nerve wracking. on 21:17 - Oct 22 by BrianMcCarthy | I thought JCS and Balogun both played well, 100%. Just think it was Dunne's kind of game on paper, and we still won without him. Impressive. |
I thought we defended really well on the whole. Having to go with Dykes and Armstrong rather than Dykes and/or Willock and Roberts was more telling.

Their goal was down to our poor defending, 3 touches in the box from a set play will almost always result in a goal at this level and it did. We should have stopped that from happening. QPR didn't play their usual football as the manager concedes, but we played well enough. It was clear that Laird and JoJo were playing below 100% match fit. And now we know Armstrong was totally spent by half-time. Richards is not match-fit or shape either. QPR created little, Wigan created less. We got lucky with Maginnis almost doing his usual snatching one as we switched off. I like this win, as it shows we can grind one out against a team that is average, rather than get a draw which is what other teams suffer. If we can continue to do that, I suspect we can make the playoffs. I expect Burnely and Norwich to get the top spots, with Sheff Utd and Watford in the playoff spots. That leaves two spots up for grabs. Luton looks like a dark horse for one of them as they have only lost 3 games! Hopefully, we can grab the other.

I have said it before (and I’ll say it again) when SJ goes off we really miss his presence. Field or Dykes MOM for me with honourable mention to Chair for his flashes of genius.

He made one run through out of defence into Wigan's half towards FT that was pretty impressive. I have no problems with anyone in our squad right now, how could I given where we are? Brum will be interesting. Eustace seems to be turning them around, and he's familiar with most of our players, which might give him a bit of an edge.

| Phew, that was nerve wracking. on 19:45 - Oct 22 by kensalriser | We were the better team overall and deserved to win, despite Wigan's strong showing second half. I thought the tippy tappy triangles at 1-0 when it looked like we were going to breeze the game were a bit previous, Beale needs to nip that in the bud. [Post edited 22 Oct 2022 19:52]

I thought the triangles were impressive and we looked at our best in the first half during that period. What’s not to like about moving the ball quickly between 3/4 players while the opposition can’t get near us. I would’ve thought that Beale will be encouraging more of the same rather than nipping it in the bud.

Their goal was well worked and fully deserved, but despite their pressure they didn’t really come close to scoring. At the time I thought they’d definitely get an equaliser. I hate extra time so much! Subs were spot on again and we did very well to see the game out. QPR teams of seasons past wouldn’t have. Another pleasing performance and result. Let’s hope we can keep it up. Special mention to Balogun who I thought was excellent. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles
