I know we're all in Bash Glasgow Rangers mode at the minute, which I really don't mind very much given the circumstances, but to play Devil's Advocate on the whole Sevco thing...
If QPR went bust and reformed wouldn't we do exactly the same and claim our 1967 triumph, and all our other (if few...) successes from the club's history with the new entity?
What makes this any different? AFC Wimbledon claim an FA Cup Win and they existed at the same time as the old Wimbledon! Albeit for a short period.

Probably. Though I suspect AFC Wimbledon and QPR (if it came to it) would acknowledge the situation.

I doubt we'll still be paying attention to Beale in a few years' time the way Rangers' fans are still giving Warbs abuse years after he left the club, having won promotion and a cup during his time there.
They're welcome to him and I want to look forward rather than back now. Although we'll naturally be interested to see whether he really lives up the hype he gives himself. |

If a 'new' club has the same set of supporters as the 'previous' club, then I would have thought, it is the same entity, especially if it plays in the same stadium or local area.
Yes the old owners may have been corrupt and may have screwed many people and organisations but the entity has been bought by new owners, albeit they may have taken advantage of the situation.
The fans can't really be blamed for this, apart from maybe not making enough noise about the previous regime. and not trying to influence the new owners to pay more recompense to the creditors. | | | |
