| england v scotland on 15:15 - Sep 13 with 1700 views | Mick_S | How fast can Kyle Walker run 100 meters? 'One of the sports science lads said I did 37.5kmh the other day in the speed thing,' revealed Walker. Over the course of a 100m race, world record holder Usain Bolt would average exactly that speed. In old money, it's about 23mph. Blimus! Don’t care if it’s bull shit; I want to believe it. | |

| england v scotland on 13:15 - Sep 13 by derbyhoop | England aren't likely to win a major tournament until they sort out a secure defence. Maguire + Guehi, Dunk or Tomori doesn't seem solid enough, although Colwill may push through over the next 2 years. Walker has hinted at retirement with no clear cut alternative. Are Shaw, Trippier or Chilwell good enough on the left side. The midfield is spoiled for choice but Kane is 29 and there aren't any obvious successors. Am I just being over pessimistic? |
I think in both full back positions we have enough choices that at any given time, odds on one is both fit and in form. In the middle it's Stones + 1...I agree that we'll make it hard for ourselves to win a tournament unless / until we find that +1. I'd be tempted to go the Full Keegan with the attacking riches we have

| england v scotland on 15:03 - Sep 13 by PhilmyRs | I sort of agree. Around the time of the last euros I thought Grealish was class, and couldn't understand Southgate's reluctance to use him. Arguably since then, given he's now a regular in a Pep Man City side, he must have improved even more. However, the more I see them, although I still think he's a very good player, he's not quick, his goal numbers are not as high as you'd expect from him and his passing range is ok, but not exceptional. An Eze/Maddison would find the defence splitting pass more often that Grealish IMO. Cut in from the left, get annoyed with oppo player tugging your short/harrying you, then spray a side foot pass across the pitch to a teammate or hit the deck and moan at the ref. I can see why he suits Pep as he retains possession very well and as I said is still a very good player, but I don't think he has it in his locker to become a world class player but as biased as I am, think an Eze could, and think Foden, Saka and Rashford will. I don't see huge improvement/development potential with Grealish, I do in the others. |

| england v scotland on 12:56 - Sep 13 by Northernr | He's a strange one is Lyndon. You watch him sometimes, Sheff Utd H last year a good example or West Brom A, and he's flying around the place being a big, physical, pain in the backside for the defenders, everything you want really, proper line leader. And then other times he may as well not be there. And you don't need to be particularly good or confident to charge around belting people, which is one of his main strengths, so I don't really get why some weeks he's on and some weeks he's not. Part of the reason why he plays for us and not somebody better though. |
Fair to say he busted neither his gut nor his arse last night.

I was talking to an Irish friend the other night. He was bemoaning the players who turned down Ireland in favour of England such as Harry Kane and showed me the photo of Grealish in an Ireland shirt. I actually suggested Grealish might have missed a trick by not choosing Ireland and my mate agreed. They’d have loved him over there and he’d have been the main man a bit like Gareth Bale was for Wales. Whether he’d have got the big Man City move if he wasn’t an England player, I don’t know, so you can’t really argue with his career choices I suppose. I also joked that Ireland should have had Armstrong up front against France, which of course actually happened later in the week. Although my mate seemed to think Ferguson was their biggest prospect. Not sure he’s actually seen either of them play in person to make that judgement!

He might go on to be a player. Looked promising at Palace but Chelsea (thankfully) seem to get the worst out of most players these days. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The answer to that one is Ferguson has scored a Premier League hat trick and Armstrong has one goal in the Championship

But on the positive got some time on the grass, didn't come away with any injuries and has had a week or so training within a different environment, similar to Sinclair. Things like that can sometimes help a player and enable them to come back to their club ready to kick on.

Not the main thing for every player but from a commercial sense you’re better off getting the occasional England cap than 100 for Ireland. He’s not particularly Irish either. I love Sinclair but Ferguson is going to be a £100m player.

defence has been ok in recent tournaments. Maguire been pretty good when it matters although not sure he is going to reach those heights again. John Stones very good and has to start when fit. I quite like Lewis Dunk as a short term option, been so good for Brighton in recent years. Saying that it is an obvious weak area of the team. We could really do with Colwill having a good season at Chelsea When Walker goes we'll be fine, got Trent, Trippier, Reece james and that young kid Rico Lewis at Man City Always think England look weaker when Shaw is missing, he's a very good player for us despite looking average for his club

I did. He was injured for the 2 recent games. Stones +1 should be the CB pairing. It's still the identity of the +1 causing concern.
