I don't like it. The twee vocals seem like they should be on a TV advert for some bullshit and the beat is the bare minimum for D&B. Snare on 2 and 4, kick on 1 and the upbeat of 3.
If you're going to do it, do it right.

No d´n´b thread without honourable mention of the one and only Nicky Blackmarket. He is QPR to the core: https://www.instagram.com/p/CnHisB9thIu/ I have had the pleasure to see him playing several times back in the days of early jungle and also recently. He still has it - better than most of the new upcoming acts.

I love D&B to the bone, and even more so Ragga Jungle. I would like to see the Yanks try and do Hiccup style like the General, that would be a good laugh!
Or ragga as fast as Demolition Man. No chance.

Big loves mate, I did wonder why I got a new YouTube subscriber from a Mr Goode!
Here's one of my aliases covering that Jungle D&B Good Looking Record sounds!
Oh and Nicky Blackmarket is a legend.
WAIT!
That's you, Silky?

Taking it way back. 1993. Aptly named The Beginning.. "Strictly drum and bass."..
Nice one. That is proper oldskool hardcore breakbeat /early jungle. Crazy to think that this genre has been around for 30 years now!!!! Back then it was a completely new interesting sound and it never really died.

Whats mad is the Amen drum beats sampled and chopped up is probably 60 years old!

Yes Mr Ree it is. 🙂
Here is the flip side to Pursuing Peace, called Memories.
Enjoy!
This is one of your best records mate. I know you love your Jungle Techno and that Basement Records sound but for me you really come into your own when you veer away from that. Dont get me wrong , its always quality stuff you produce, and you know i love the Ron Wells sound too , but this is great. I tend to dip in and out of DnB. (Doesnt get played enough on Release) Is there any copies left or do i have to feed the sharks on Discogs..? lol

Best know for his Acid House track Voodoo Ray from 88 but he also was at the start of the DnB/Jungle sound in 91 with this ...28 Gun Bad Boy
Renagade Soundwave.. 1989
Cheers mate. I bought Voodoo Ray 12"on vinyl when it came out in 1988 and A Guy Called Geralds Black Secret Technology album is probably on my all time d´n´b top 10. I was a frequent visitor to Rage at Heaven back in the early 90´s. That was where I got introduced to the beginning of the new sound of d´n´b after acid house died. Mad times in London back then and QPR was playing better and better ending up 5th in the Premier Leauge in 93. Now it seems very distant. But I would never change the experience for anything.

I basically learned to mix on vinyl with this track. I was mixing before but couldn't get the hang of it, for some reason it clicked while playing this tune. Big ups to Dj Vibes (not that one) who basically taught me. I spent days/weeks at a time round his gaff smoking , dropping Es and Acid, going out buying records and raving. I even had Christmas dinner round his house, which his mum bless her cooked and insisted i stayed because i was in no fit state to go home. Anyway. 1993.
