Decent money to be made. Bookies aren't as clued up on youth games so can find a proper edge, unlike Prem games where they're so often ahead of the curve.

He played at left back against possibly the outstanding RM in the league against Middlesbrough and he’s been bombed out ever since. Gvardiol didn’t do any better against Ben Doak a few days later in the Cup. Ashby, who isn’t even our player, gets picked when he’s stunk the place out for weeks.

He won promotion to and played 30 or so times in the Portuguese top flight. He’s 23. I doubt very much he was brought in to play for the development squad.
If I’d had the start to a career at a new club that he’s had I’d regard that as a bit of a nightmare.
