You don't appear to have grasped that in the hierarchy of talent, Adel is at the pinnacle, irrespective of whether he ever did it over a long time or not. As for Salah, his stats prove he's unquestionably a great player - and that's without playing for a top national team, like eg Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe etc.

Only thing I'd add is that style-wise, Salah possibly doesn't excite quite so much as more flamboyant players, hence reservations about his worth?

I'm not sure top 6. Adel, as much as I loved him, is nowhere near that.

I mean Maradona, Zidane, Messi, Ronaldo would have to be up there. The you have defensive players Maldini, Buffon etc and loads I have forgotten.

I don’t watch much premier league football, not a fan of sky, Neville, Carragher. However because I’ve been off over Christmas i have watched a few games and did think Liverpool were great, I know they only beat West Ham , but they are a classy team. Then last night I watched the Man Utd match, Newcastle played well but I didn’t realise how poor United are these days, just shocking, now it’s Liverpool v Man Utd on Sunday which could be 7 or 8 nil.

The night gets rounded off nicely with Chelsea losing….
