First two bits here bang on. We’ve seen time and time again, most clubs don’t want to spend millions to pay comp for a manager who, more than likely in the modern world, they will
then need to fire at some point when it all goes to sh**. Hell even Southampton with all the premier league money didn’t want to fork out a few mil for Rohl. We payed half a mil or so (from memory) for Marti and that was funded by a garage sale of sponsorship deals.
If martis is anywhere in the millions, the biggest threat - as many on here have said time and again - is relegated premier league teams coming in for him who can afford a few mi (ie not Rangers). Lucky for us, Saints/Leicester are both in the bin financially, and if it is Ipswich coming down our risk is only really there if McKenna gets poached (but that feels less likely now than last summer when it was on the brink). |  | | |
