an early SHEPHERDS (bush) v SHEEP match thread.... 18:59 - Apr 3 with 20227 viewsqpr_1968

a must must win....

i'm going for 1-0, i think thats all the goals we'll have in us, even against cardiff.
a good solid defensive display should do the job.

if i'm wrong, i'll eat my crook.

Poll: how many games this season....home/away.

I think we edged the first half, and Cardiff the second. Neither team deserved to win so it was a fair, but tedious, result.

Our half-time subs tilted the play towards South Wales. The loss of Andersen, Field and, to lesser extent, Lloyd took away the little offensive threat we had.

That’s how I saw it. Not the worst performance of the season but it was dull
Hopefully the subs were made to protect them for the last few games.

I assumed it was pretty clear that someone who posts the sort of stuff SE does is someone in dire need of their hard drive being forensically checked…

It's absolutely fine to disagree with another posters opinions and we all spout sh1te at some point, me very much included!

But there should not be personal insults. There should be a respect of opinions differing to our own, some healthy debate and as a final resort the use of the mute button.

Agreed, Cardiff looked a decent half-team, solid in the back and centre midfield but toothless up front and very ropey in goal, those two late headers were better than any chance we made. At least not losing has got me in a glass half-full mood, and at least I won’t have to watch that game again. Thanks due to Colback, Paal, Morrison, Edwards and Smyth - though I’m sorry he didn’t cut it back to Andersen on his lovely first half break, I can understand why.

Yeah, Dembele’s corners were effectively shots on goal with that keeper and his technique.

Why we let set pieces go to waste when it’s our best chance of scoring, because we allow the wrong taker to repeat the floaty cross or don’t beat the first man - I can not understand. It’s clearly the best way for us to register a goal currently. Paal isn't always 100% but he’s 100% better than Andersen at corners IMO.

I also understand why Smyth didn’t cut it back when it was the best option - in theory.

Stigmata.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

I'm still waiting. Been here since 2004.

It's cold. And people keep staring. I'm going to give it another week and then sod it.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Didn’t think we were too bad in the first half .
Second half we were dreadful . 2 teams very much racing each other to the bottom.

The substitution of Field and maybe Lloyd to a lesser extent bought back a similar feeling that’s been at the club for years now - lack of belief.
You saw the belief drain from the players and heard it from the stands too a little.
As a club we have been so fragile for so long now and there it was again today in all its glory .
Of course injuries are key , any team would miss so many crucial players but we stopped believing in ourselves and credit to Lloyd for his first half performance. He is limited but he held it up well and caused them problems and gave the team belief we could score.

For what it’s worth i thought Paal had a decent game especially first half . The 2 centre backs did ok too . Edwards was up against beast and it was a battle for sure. Colbsck did ok but faded second half. Smyth energetic and lively .
But that second half was rank . Shocking game of football and pretty lucky to get a point .

Frustrated . But as much with the utter state of our carcass of a squad as much as the performance.

I complained to my son in the first half about the lack of understanding between Yang, Lloyd and Paal on the left in the first half and compared it with the inroads Smyth was making on the right. Fair play to Paal for the energy he showed in the second half, the run he made to reach Edwards’ (?) ball right at the corner flag late on was exceptional.

A point saved at home to a team who were just as sh!t as us?
I don’t think so.
That was our easiest remaining fixture: let’s hope we don’t end up needing the two points we’ve just dropped.

Yes, it absolutely was a key game and perhaps our best opportunity of getting a desperately needed win, but our current plight is the result of a slow onset event.

We've been rubbish for what, two months, now, and we were shocking at the start of the season.

More's the pity

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
