| Millwall deliver QPR’s latest reality check – Report on 19:21 - Oct 20 with 1955 views | Noelmc | Thanks Clive. Your report is spot on as usual. I'd like to echo the positive comments from you and Bosh67 on Luongo. I thought he did a great job when he was with us and after he left I was pleased to see him do well at Ipswich where he played a key role in the squad that was promoted to the Premier League. I hope he makes a full and quick recovery from the serious injury he sustained on Saturday. | | | |

Good pro. Bad injury to pick up at his stage of career if the early reports are true. He'd started really well for them as well.
| Millwall deliver QPR’s latest reality check – Report on 20:53 - Oct 20 with 1806 views | Loft1979 | Great Report. 'To put Frey and Kone together again against anybody, and expect a different result, was the definition of footballing madness'...insanity. On Kolli: Loved those comments!! His cameo at Bristol was a difference maker. He certainly should be seeing more game time if healthy. On Burrell: Does his (ghastly) first touch add to his potency? It just seems to sucker defenders, only to see him beat them. On Vale: He works best when the proposed recipient to his passes can run. Ultimately, I agree. We are exactly easier on the eyes than QPR teams of recent past. Even if occasionally insane. | | | |

| Millwall deliver QPR’s latest reality check – Report on 09:30 - Oct 20 by TheChef | Cheers Clive. We rarely beat Millwall these days. And we rarely beat Alex Neil teams. So not really a surprising result. Onto the next one. |
I might be wrong but have we lost three in a row to Millwall not that I want to remember such things? The warning for us was Millwall beating West Brom 3-0 in their previous match. We haven't won any of our last six meetings with the Baggies so the starting line up was puzzling to say the least to face a team unbeaten away. We have now frittered away 5 points in two home games that were winnable. Resting players is bordering on throwing games just to save them with another three games in 8 days schedule. Now we have 5 subs we should try and get the game won then hook players for a rest. Instead we are bringing on players resting as things are not going to plan. I suspect that is why the changes only happened after an hour rather than at half time.

| Millwall deliver QPR’s latest reality check – Report on 13:31 - Oct 20 by Pindarus | Pace is the answer. We lacked it at the back. We lacked it at the front. There should be no place for Frey (especially) or Cook. Frey would be better employed as one of the dray horses that lumber round Wandsworth delivering Youngs beer. (Do they still have them?) Whoever thought it would be a great idea to extend his contract needs to have their brains examined. As should anybody who picks him again to start a game. |
I know we live in a world of instant gratification, but a little more respect for last season’s top scorer wouldn’t go amiss . Single-handedly turned the game around at Luton when we couldn’t buy a win. Also earned us a vital point v Milwall.

Top scorer with 9 goals in all competitions. Hardly Golden Boot territory.
| Millwall deliver QPR’s latest reality check – Report on 08:50 - Oct 21 with 1370 views | cpgerber | Good report thank you. And Clive touches a point here that always frustrates me: Why do we always need to setup to counter the opposition instead of playing to your own strengths? That way you keep chopping and changing and mixing it up. In a league like the championship there will not be many games where you really have to setup to counter the opposition to avoid a whitewash, not to the point where it affects the team selection like it did vs Millwall. Focus on what you can do well and let the opposition worry about you. Small tweaks and adaptions sure, but not to the point where we nullified our own attack for the sake of having bigger players on the pitch. p.s. Burrell looks pretty big and physical to me me anyway. I don't see what Frey can do what he supposedly can't. [Post edited 21 Oct 8:55]

| Millwall deliver QPR’s latest reality check – Report on 19:12 - Oct 20 by Northernr | I had RND as star man as well. The way he reads the game and steps onto the play with interceptions is so far ahead of Paal. But his part in both goals I'm afraid knocked him down considerably. |
I'm against the grain with RND, I personally think he's basic AF and although a potential improvement on Larkeche and the inexperienced Esq, he's got zero football IQ and is criminally one footed, despite that his first touch often plays the ball onto his right, forcing him backwards. I think he had a big part to play in their first goal too. He's game in the tackle and doesn't hide, which I like, but nothing more than championship 6/10 full back, so I don't really get the love.

So Jake Bidwell, basically?

Not as good as Bidwell, but will probably have a similar career - which was very good in the end. I think if he was right footed instead of left, he'd be league one at best. [Post edited 21 Oct 10:32]

Disagree on this one. Think he is significantly better than Bidwell, a huge improvement on Paal, and better than Wallace too. I really like him. Strong, deceptively quick, gets very tight to the winger, good in the tackle, good on the air. He’s better than 6/10. Would be delighted if we could sign him permanently.

Interesting quotes yesterday from Chris Wilder about him. I wonder if we'll keep beyond January, never mind permanently...

Sounds like there's a January-recall option.

Don’t often disagree with you Simmo , hardly ever actually but have a different opinion on this one . ‘Footballing IQ’ isn’t just about creating chances or attacking , it can be reading the game , seeing danger , getting your body shape right , commiting yourself to win the ball at the right moment etc. For my memory he is already an improvement on Bidwell , Larkeche, Paal and Esquerdinha and probably loads more of recent times although I quite like Lee Wallace . Had a couple of moments Saturday but in general he’s been very good . By the same measure , your potentially saying Alan McDonald had no football IQ , no? Big Mc wasn’t great with the football but he read the game incredibly . It takes all sorts to make a team .

Big big difference between football IQ and technique, I'm not conflating them at all. The example of his first touch moving the ball to his weak foot which he then can't use is a better example of my point. He does that constantly and leaves himself no options. I also think he really struggles with decision making past the half way line, and hasn't been able to link up well when asked to be the width in the team. Agree with the good parts people have mentioned - commited in the tackle and quicker than expected. He's shown himself to be a solid defensive full back and I felt much better with him in the back 4 against Stoke than Larkeche. I also watched on stream rather than live Saturday, so concede to Clive and others who were there and said he was good. To be clear I don't think he's a bad player at all - like Fox - but I don't personally see him as Hunter and others do atm. I think he is one of those players whose skills work better on the left side of a back 3 rather than a modern full back... [Post edited 21 Oct 12:30]
