(Stephan on the offish) Give me strength! Talk about getting your (pony) excuses in early! If that's what he's putting up in public to us, what's he saying to the players in private? It'll be 'tough, intense and aggressive', apparently, and we need to be 'competitive'. Can't wait after that clarion call and serrated analysis. Blades 4 Rs 1 Who's with me (misery loves company)? If you're signing players based on data, picking your team based on data and deciding which subs to use in which minutes based on data, then having 24 hours less rest becomes a big deal to you. This guy makes me feel less and less confident in his ability. He just seems like a void, being told what to do by the likes of Nourry and Williams. The anti-Warnock.

If the Club & the players themselves cannot prepare themselves and worry about the fact that we played 24 hours after Sheff Utd then we are in 'big trouble'.....just get out there and work your 'nuts' off!!! It is a joke.

I hope the line up reflects the challenge this game poses, but I am not confident it will. Not a game for Madsen or Varane. Field, Cook, Hayden and bonkers Mbengue will be needed for this one. Need a balance between defensive solidity and an attack that can get in behind the bruisers at the back.

He'd probably prefer not to have to do it but that's not an option. It's highly unlikely that anything new or original will be revealed and unlike him you, the viewer or listener, do have an option.

This point has been made endlessly - that demanding that the manager throws players under the bus in official interviews and provides a detailed synopsis of what is said in the dressing room is neither likely nor advisable. If you want the warts and all exposé it's not coming from an interview with Tyler, wait for the autobiography. [Post edited 8 Nov 12:39]

They’re not going to give anything away beforehand and unless they’re vying for the sack and a nice pay off, they’re not going to throw players under the bus after. It’s all very performative, cliched, repetitive. Not worth getting wound up by it IMO. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The stats prove it’s not a QPR issue having a day less, particularly playing away. It shouldn’t make a difference to the extent of the slop served up at Derby and a performance like that should be hammered if we see similar today. I’d rather wait for that to be confirmed than get annoyed about it 2-4 hours before we know either way.

One thought on this issue. Presumably as the home club we have some control over the date of the Southampton match. I can't see that there were any other local matches taking place on either Tuesday or Wednesday so with an away match planned the following Saturday why didn't we play on the Tuesday to give us more recovery time?

Sky control the fixtures, equal spread Tuesday and Wednesday to keep the 'red button' armchair punters happy.
