| Refwatch - Rochdale v Aldershot Town on 21:23 - Nov 15 with 4039 views | _Windydale | I think John Coleman knows what a Dale team is all about, and had the shots fired up. Pressing hard and putting us under a lot of pressure. Performance is not really that important today, but the win definitely was. | | | |

He was leaning against the dug out most of the match.....where was the animated SoftLad we all loved? Is he missing his Bellend.

I respect what he's done for teams without much finance. Dunno, about the dug out stance though. He parted with Bell due to Bell's personal issue with distance and travel, but he's had a great career working miracles with Accrington in the EFL. I hoped he could do a job when at Dale, but that went abit t1ts up.

He seems to like players who're WUMs Their no.25 was giving it large to the Pearl St after he'd conned the ref into thinking he'd been fouled whilst struggling to defend in the penalty area Wasn't it Bobby Grant who had a similar habit?

Yes, Bobby Grant, a player, easily wound up, fiery character. A favourite of Coleman's, who scored a lot of goals for us under Reign.2012 season, I think. [Post edited 16 Nov 11:49]

Lacking respect for Coleman and his achievements as a manager would indicate a lack of knowledge of lower league football. He didn’t fit at Dale and hasn’t always done that well outside of Accrington, but his success there is the reason they’re a Football League club.

Absolutely, and it was also something McNulty mentioned in his post match interview yesterday.

Pre match minutes silence and last post was as always perfectly observed. Some symmetry there as well with Aldershot being an Army town. Scruffy win and Dale way below par. The amount of misplaced passes first half needs some analysis by the management but tough windy conditions and a slow pitch obvious factors. Thought TAR had a good game but the stand out MOM not just for his goal was Gilmour. Mani and Rodney looked disjointed yesterday why Rodney was playing so deep and then so wide he struggled to make a real impact. Would like to see Rodders more advanced and more central playing in and around Mani. 3 points and I agree that 13 wins from our opening 17 league games is astonishing. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Rodney was poor for most of the game. Didn’t look sharp and his touch was below par. His position remained the same as it has all season though, until we try a midfield three we won’t be playing with a front two.

We were well below par because they pressed us effectively for an hour before tiring somewhat which allowed us to get space behind them. Very happy with the win. On another day we could easily have lost that. So grateful for the club in investing the funds to enable the game to go ahead even though the pitch is obviously in need of major remieal work to get through the next couple of months. Will be interesting to see what happens for the next few months as it will become increasingly difficult to play on the COA pitch

Yes, a fabulous start and the early kick off next week gives us a great chance to go top of the league again. Looking at the league table we are now eleven points clear of Wealdstone in eighth place with a far superior goal difference, probably worth another point. A Play off place already looks nailed on and i think the current top seven clubs will now be the ones involved in the final shake up. We would have all settled for a play off finish again at the start of the season so we can now chase that top spot with no real pressure, there was no expectation on us to win the league outright anyway. York have the weight of expectation around their neck to win the league and that could weigh heavy as the season progresses. [Post edited 16 Nov 12:44]

Think you’re right about the top 7 and from there it’s anyone’s title as we stand. I think expectations were raised by our brilliant start, but thinking back to what fans thought would be a good season, we’re achieving that. I expected us to finish in the top 3 with the final position to be determined as much by the capabilities of others as much as ourselves, some would have thought playoffs again only with a better outcome. That we are now obviously a title contender is illustrating the continued progression. Being where we are with the added disadvantage of everything that surrounds the pitch, is another plus.

| Refwatch - Rochdale v Aldershot Town on 17:11 - Nov 16 with 2448 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Tamworth will be no pushovers on Saturday.....yesterday when Boreham Wood went one up they were top of the league, before a Tamworth equaliser and late winner did us a favour. No easy games....did nt expect Aldershot to put up such a fight yesterday but hopefully they can do us a favour an wallop our rivals for the top. | | | |

I wondered about that. Then the same lino flagged Burger offside later on when he looked about a yard onside.

Gilmour stayed level with the last defender as the ball was played

Adebeyo-Rowling was tight to being offside when Barlow played it out wide too. At least 1 Aldershot defender had his arm up appealing. Thankfully the linesman gave both him and Gilmour the benefit of doubt being the attacking team - that's not always the case.

It could also be argued that he wasn't ahead of the ball either at the moment TAR played it.

Looks as though he may be slightly ahead of the defender but maybe just level with the ball. Benefit of the doubt. Good to see 4 players trying to get in the box and get on the end of it. https://publish.twitter.com/?url=
