He’s 36. Not exactly one for the future I wouldn’t have thought😂

I think the idea is that he will develop Josh Key for the rest of this season. Ironically Josh had a great cameo when he came on tonight. All looking good.
| January Transfer Rumours on 08:45 - Dec 30 with 2353 views | KeithHaynes | James McConnell, LFC midfielder, no interest as yet. As reported by FLW etc. No decisions on replacements until those on loan at the club have their futures certain after Jan 1st. | |

| January Transfer Rumours on 09:55 - Dec 30 with 2264 views | Dr_Winston | I wonder if, given the long term injury to Idah, whether a loan move for Piroe makes sense now. Not only to cover/provide competition for Vipi, but also because he's a more than capable #10 too, and we could use one of those. | |
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Preston have been linked with him. Not sure how realistic that is, but if there’s anything in it, we should be able to compete with them. If he was available on loan though, I’d imagine a bigger hitter in the Championship would blow us both out the water | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Benson hopefully will go he's useless. Yalcouye stay he offers something different for me but not a starter. Casey stay he is the best cover we have central defence and gives us the option of going three st the back in games. Samuels-Smith return. He's not playing much and I would rather see Lissah brought back as cover and develop. Cooper leave him there and try to offload we need better. Bianchini the same but he has 2 years left on his contract which is a problem. Congreve leave him there to continue developing as we are stacked in midfield at the moment. Lloyd offload he is struggling to get in the team bottom of league two. League of Wales at best. Wilson leave him there for this season to get games and develop here won't get them here behind Vipotnik, Idah and Wales. Bring him back in the summer when we have seen where we are with Idah who I'm not convinced and Wales who might go out on loan. Nzingo I really don't know what the situation is, if his contract really is running down and in the last six months why? We normally extend before sending out on loan. He's due back in two days and hasn't played for two months, are we just offloading?

In his post match interview he said long term hamstring injury but didn't ssy how long. Problem with hamstrings is they can linger and return.

The trouble with Hamstring injuries is the desire of the affected player to want to make their come back too early. If there is pain in the location of the tear/pull however isolated or small it will go time and time again it must be left to fully heal but the needs of the team often mean they don't take as much care as they should and rush players back taking the word of the player who invariably wants to get back playing. We have seen a number of our players break down after being rushed back too early. Maybe that changed under Sheehan who seem to limit recovering players playing time, or maybe the medical staff has learnt from past mistakes or is it a case they or medical treatments and diagnosis has moved on from the days that Mike Owen, Robbie Fowler and Giggs struggled to perform in the way and position they had made their own. In Giggs case he was managed or he managed his issues very well often frustrating Welsh fans but ultimately extended his playing career as an advanced midfielder rather than an out and out winger. Montero is a classic example of the issues that Hamstrings can cause if not managed.

I do feel a bit sorry for Bobby Wales. He should really be out on loan playing football somewhere. But with two centre forwards and classing Cullen as an attacking midfielder, we’re too short on cover, so he’s stuck in no mans land not playing for us and not playing for anyone else.

This is why I can't see the sense of Wilson or Nzingo returning, footballers need to be playing football.

Will be interesting to see if Wales gets a start on New Years day or in the cup game or will Cullen get a start. It will also be interesting to see if both Ronald and Inoussa will be asked to lead the line Inoussa came on for Vipotnik upto and within 5 minutes Idah had come on to revert him to the wing. For me until Wales has a few games under his belt and shown he can learnt from those game it is very hard to judge him and how he could if possible fit into the team.

I would think we’ll ask Vipotnik to push through the next two games, unless either Idah returns to fitness, or we’re a couple of goals up and can bring Wales on. The cup game, I’m sure he’ll be on the bench or rested completely. We can’t judge Bobby Wales, but Matos sees him every day. So far, neither him nor Sheehan has felt he’s ready.

I've seen Nzingo play here in North Carolina, and could see why they might want to try Nzingo with his 8 goals/2 assists. He has the skills, can play as a #10. He's no Vip; not that type of player. But he does offer more than Cullen, faster than Cullen, completed more than 87% of his passes, finds the seams, and could/would work well with Widell. He played more than 1400 minutes for Carolina Core, and according to one of their top managers would want him to return. I think he's only 21 years old.

I know I probably defend Cullen too much on here, but can you confidently compare a championship player to anyone playing in the MLS development league? I don’t know a lot about it, but a few quick searches all say the standard is roughly comparable to the National league. Liam Cullen would rip that apart, as would any of our first team squad.
